Never could figure this out

Something that has been itching at me since Fallout Tactics was worth 69.98$ (Cdn.). Why is it when you get a random encounter with both Reavers and Mutants do they not fight eachother? Is it possible that they Reavers and Muties have some sorta military alliance with one another?

wow, the Brotherhood is extremely disliked by Reavers and Mutants...so would they destroy eachother after they are done with the Brotherhood or would the just move on with respect that they set aside their differences for a short time?

Since you brought up the subject, why don't you tell us what you think about this?

*shrugs* I used to think that it was just a glitch that the creators have never gotten around to fixing though I was frustrated when the 1.27 patch came out and they still didn't fix the problem, this also dissolved the possibility that they had a military alliance that was supposed to be in the game but the creators took out for whatever reasons (like the extra Reaver missions) but then they would fix the encounter because of the lack of provided information, but requiem_for_a_starfury seemed to clear up this problem for me very nicely.

Technical answer, there's no planned Reaver/Super Mutant encounter. While the engine can handle a random encounter where two sides are fighting, what you are finding is really two seperate random encounters at the same time. In the random encounter set up you can specify the alignment of the people you are encountering, good, bad or critter. Critters tend to fight everyone, Good alignment will set people friendly to you but Reavers and Mutants are both set to Bad so they are hostile to you. Since it's not a planned meeting the engine is probably treating them as being on the same team and friendly to each other. Though this is all conjecture since I've never had such an encounter.

Well, i've only gotten this encounter a few times when I was searching for special encounters, it seems to appear in an area where it is possible to get both mutant and Reaver encounters, I also noticed that the encounter usually consists of two very large groups of mutants and reavers, but you theory is probably right, thanks!

ComradeDTA, i have a problem with your sig.
It lables the Magazine as a clip. Clips are the small magazines. like a 5 round clip for a sniper rifle. That "clip" appears to hold 30 rounds of AP bullets, therefore a magazine...

Yes. It's the same dark alliance that brought Wanamingos and Deathclaws together in the RPG.

Don't forget the fearsome Spore Plant - Evile Dogge Axis of Evil.

Origionally I contemplated over whether to call it a magazine, or a clip, seeing how this signature would be seen on multiple forums, but I went with clip because it wouldn't take up as much room and some people would get confused with "magazine"

30 rnds of FMJ, standard Soviet rnds......

AK-103 always had a tendency to jam up with AP's the chamber was made for FMJ and AP is .1 mm longer and causes problems (discovered in Chenchnya)

Wanamingos and deathclaws aren't particularily intelligent creatures, Mutants and reavers both are, very funny

That sounds like the perfect opportunity to educate people, versus continue Hollywood bullshit. "Clip" only refers to the type of magazine (and technically, it's a banana clip magazine), versus feed or caseless magazines; so it would be like labeling the grip "bullpup", and the sights as "aperture" or "open". :D

To make more accurate.

Butt should be replaced with paratrooper folding buttstock. Front "stock" should be handgrip, or forestock. Triggerguard instead just guard. Pistol grip is instead of grip.

You also forgot to mention the flash suppressor, upper and lower receivers, and selector switch, but I'm a stickler.
