Neverhood - The Movie

Davy Crockett

It Wandered In From the Wastes
Doug TenNapel wrote in March 2007 to his official forum that he is in talks with a producer about making a movie based on the Neverhood world.[3] Frederator Studios later remarked that they would be working with Doug TenNapel on the film.[4]

A June 25 Variety article confirmed that The Neverhood would be one of the first projects of the newly formed Frederator Films, a company formed for the purpose of creating animated feature films budgeted under $20 million.[2]

That's pretty dope. I thought it might be interesting seeing something new from the Neverhood, but then I thought a game would be a total failure. A movie on the other hand would be perfect. I like animated movies but to be honest I was sick of CGI animation from the first day they emerged. Sure, computer assisted 2D animation is cool, maybe some 3D here and there is acceptable, but those 3D-only shit movies just make me fucking spew.
Claymation/stop motion is one of the coolest ways to animate stuff and therefore I am really looking forward to see the Neverhood movie.
Let's hope it won't get canceled or replaced by CGI.

Neverhood and EWJ? Awexome.

Doug ain't wastin' time.
Bringing the most-awesome non-fallout franchises back to life is the best thing to happen to entertainment industry. TenNapel is weird enough to make it really worth it.

Well, the old adventures were so much like interactive movies. So... chilled out and stylish.
Especially the first Neverhood game was like that. Skullmonkeys went a bit in the wrong direction being a platformer, but the cutscenes were fucking premium.

I trust Doug to make a really good movie. Already a classic! 8-)

Hmm... I don't think The Neverhood fits particularly well to movie format.
I mean, there's hardly a semblance of dialogue...
I think I'm gonna go with 'wait and see' for this one, while hoping that Terry Scott Taylor does the soundtrack.

Doug has his hands full now though, eh?
