New Critters patch

Wild_qwerty

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
For those of you that dont know I am currently in the process of converting all the critters from FOT into FO2 format. Though this is between MR and the Toxic mod I am working on. I figured that since there are all these programers out there making great things for the comunity I will try and do what I can.

Basicaly I will be releasing a series of critters patches, for example:

Pack 1 - Animals
Pack 2 - Bugs
Pack 3 - Mutants
Pack 4 - Robots
Pack 5 - Raiders
Pack 6 - Reavers
Pack 7 - Misc People
Pack 8 - Characters

Though these will be released in no particular order and some critters wont be released as they have been dedicated to MR. Basically I need someone to test these critters out and make sure all the animations are correct. I have come across a couple of frames on some critters that have transperency issues but have mixed most of these. But there is no way I can check the thousands of frames for a set of critters, or test them all in game.

Also it would be nice if someone could transfer the stats of the critters from FOT into FO2, we could then also release each set with the critters protos perhaps? Lastly what would be the best method for distrubtion? In a DAT file with all the protos ready to go or just a series of FRMs in a Zip file. The main thing I would like to see is that the stats for these critters be set as a standard so that in one mod they are not completely different to another, which is why the stats from tactics are crucial

I think a dat file makes life simpler for most people.

If someone wants to change the stats, or go in a different route, they can unpack the dat, and change the prototypes, or make new ones.

I look forward to testing these out!

I think it would be best to zip the art under proper namination for now. Comon you can make your own pros people.
The thing about .pro files is they come in a numerical order so would have to make new pros anyways to add the critters to your projects in proper order. Otherwise a full mod would certainly be a .dat file if not being added to the patch.dat

Welll it would be nice to include a txt file with each critter with its "recommened stats" from Fallout tactics

Sorry for the double post, but this was way down the list.

Anyway, on to the topic at hand. I will be chucking a few of the FRMs that we wont be using in MR into a DAT file (called something like Critt000.DAT). Hopefully I will get this done somtime in the next week or two. I could probably get it done sooner, but I tend to try and do to much at the same time as it is. Once this patch is out. I need people to help test it, Is I've mentioned earlier there are just too many frames in a set of critters for one person to check them all. I havent got around to making the FRMs for 'Dead' critters yet so the body will dispear after you leave thge map, though I havent test this yet. I should really make the these beofre releasing it I suspose.

Oh and expect a large download.
