RE: Yeah, well what about this one:
Come on, every program has its pros and cons:
About the speed, *it's completely relative*:
DAT Explorer loads a DAT in matter of seconds
DatMan takes 20 secs to load Master.dat, 10 secs to load Critter.dat and 2 secs to load Patch000.dat
DatMan navigation features (change folder/displaying) are 4 times faster than Dat Explorer.
DAT Explorer makes a full Patch000.dat extraction 2 or 3 seconds faster than DatMan.
DatMan makes a full Master.dat extraction faster than PEFAFE (TeamX last undat console program), don't remember the seconds. DAT Explorer can't make a full Master.dat extraction because it contains a bug (it doesn't divide the buffer when unZlibing so it pop-ups a "Cannot create output file" or the hard disk starts to run without stopping forever having to reset the computer... yes it happened to me
).
About the DAT packing features.
DATs made with DAT Explorer are unuseful (just try them).
So, DatMan is the best DAT packer in existence.
About the "ability to open several DATs".
We (Garry and me) wanted to create that feature to allow fast managing (creation/edit/etc.) of DATs. For example, it would allow drag & drop features, among others.
DatMan Light (a reduced version of what is (hopefully) going to be DAT Manager), used that same engine, so, the feature was left there and I used it to promote the proggy
.

No,
F3 to extract the selected file(s) or directory
F4 to extract the entire DAT
These are just one key.
Tools/Extract selected files...
Tools/Extract entire DAT...
These are two clicks.
ALT F4 are two keys.

Thanks.
Finally, I have plans of releasing the source codes.
So, like I said, both programs has its pros and cons and I think both of them are useful.
But if I were dims, I would start helping TeamX to finish that damn Mapper!
