I just made a new section to NMA called Fallout Modding, as you might understand from the name this section will in the future include all info on modding the various Fallout games. Right now I've put up a couple of links to various tutorials and such, I've got lots more to make in this section so look out.

Next up tonight is some new Fallout files:Good job guys, remember to upload more files or email them to me.

Sweet Odin.

EDIT

Playing the second appoc mod now. While it has a more duengon crawl feel to it, its still something new, so that more than makes up for it.

EDIT:If you cant see pictures than it means that my host is down at the moment. But i am 100% sure it will be back up real soon.

Well might as well put up 2 screenshots here.

This is drugstore.

This is Junk shop.
You can see the pattern.

It might seem at start of this mod like its way to many rats and scorpions coming. But when you advance levels chance of scorpions and rats drops all the way to 5% and harder enemies start coming around level 4-6. So pretty much encounter table adds new encounters the higher your level is. So if on table there was just rats and scorpions there was 50% chance of scorpions and 50% chance of rats. At level 6 robbers are added making it 33% rats, 33% scorpions and 33% robbers. Later ghouls and harder robbers are added so chances are down to 20% for each encounter and so on.

Just don't advance way to fast in levels before you gear up with some power armor and decent weapons. You don't want to meet 15 super mutants with a desert eagle.

So if it feels a bit boring first 6 levels just hold on it gets really fun later.

Okay :) I've partialy updated it now. I will try to finish it soon.

*EDIT*
It also now contains a link to Frame Animator 2.51, the NMA downloads only has up to 2.5

The mod looks nice. I'll play it when the low-cpu version comes.

Haris, I like the mod. One thing that bothers me though is the stores. And your home. They seem very unpolished. A lot of stuff laying around that doesn't really make sense (brotherhood insignias, floating roof, a lot of beds etc). The gizmo sign is also floating. Perhaps redo the Home map? Maybe you should redesign all of them.

Another way to tackle it would be use some maps from FO1/2 like the Gunrunners in FO1 for a store. Just a sugestion.

Agris, I believe it's supposed to be like that. It's not a highly polished mod, just a fairly simple one.

I was just giving feedback, if it's not suppose to look good then that's fine. If Haris is interested in improving it, it was just a suggestion on how he could do so.

Right now we are trying to make another one of these with only 1 town. Its gonna be called Arena or Thunderdome or Death match not yet sure. Entire mod is gonna be played on same map. This mod will have an ending and goal to achieve. Its collecting 500000 $ to buy your freedom so they will let you out of that town. And you make money by fighting in the ring. And the higher level you are the better fights you can take and the better shops that are in town will be unlocked for you. When you have 500000 $ you pay for your freedom and mod ends. Allso you will have to fight against 10 special enemies before you can go free. Some of them are Midget troopers- 10 mean midgets with submachines, Insane scientist- with needler gun and so on. Since in this mod you spend all the time in the town and not just 2 minutes to trade we will have to make town look good.

I could remake those maps, it only took about 10 minutes to make em anyway, i wasnt making them for the looks, i just needed a shop that wasnt giving you ability to rob it but was still providing every gun/armor/ammo and drug there is in the game, except radaway for the sake of making radiation scary.

Well anyhow i am not sure if i am gonna keep improving Second apocalypse or if i am gonna start making arena mod. Eather way i am one of those that like to aim low and finish the dam thing.

The Encounter Booster Fo2 do not work for me, I have followed the instructions, but I get the same result, that I still speed over the map and have no encounters. Any sugestions? (I got the unofficial 1.05 patch (UK))

Reminds me of Shadowrun on the SNES. There was an area (called the Junkyard i believe) in the game where you had to fight in an arena to earn money to pay for your freedom.

Still sounds like a fun mod though. You might do something to throw in a little variety. If it gets to be too long it might get boring just fighting and trading.

You do realise that Haris made that post in November 2004, that he was banned in the meantime, and that his 'brilliant' mods were buried by all people who have some semblance of taste and understanding of game design?
