So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
Gameguru Mania has posted an interview with Sergey Lakhtin of Akella about their upcoming game Metalheart: Replicants Rampage as well as some new screenshots.

GGMania: How much choice and what kinds of choices will the player have in the starting player character?

Sergey Lakhtin: There is no choice, as there will be no also a starting generation of the character. Game can be compared to the interactive fantastic novel - the emphasis is made not on maintenance of illusion of freedom, but on an interesting and fascinating plot. The opportunity to think and operate at once for two main characters - the captain of space lorry Lantan Signy and his second pilot, beauty Sheris Sheridane will be presented for us.

That's certainly an unusual direction to take for an RPG, let's hope it works. Also, is it just me or are there a ton of circular areas in this game?

Thanks to Pal and Briosafreak for the heads up.

Indeed. They apparently love circular architecture and decoration.

Having to take a premade characther I can deal with, but weather or not I get it depends on how much freedom you have in the gameworld.

Well, premade character doesn't have to mean game will be bad. Just off the top of my head ... there was ( sort of ) premade character in Planescape: Torment. Except starting stats real development of character took place in actual game. And there was great plot that made Planescape such good game.
My guess is that Metalheart's makers worked out similar way of character developing.
