New modder onboard- looking for some help.

First time out of the vault
Hello all. I'm trying to get into modding Fallout 2, and have gone through the available download sections, but to no avail. Can anyone send me or post a good link to FIME? I'd like to start off with some weapons mods and I have read good things about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hehehe and then you forgot to tell him where to get fife :)

Go to the fife site for the latest version would be my guess http://www.fifengine.de/
Ahh well, he was asking about Fallout modding tools and I don't intend to spam FIFE links over all threads here at NMA *g*

But Qwerty is right: maybe FIFE is interesting for you as Fallout modder too. I guess our wiki is a better starting point than our homepage because that's where the majority of the content can be found nowadays:

I would normally post a hint that users should use the fucking search function of the file section.

But I can't blame edeguarda for this shit:

Ayup, looks like there was some residue in the database table, I wonder if it was related to the search script not communicating on par with the database layer. Try now, should be fixed.

EDIT: Oh wait, it's not

EDIT2: Should do now

Errr me loose brain, I saw FIME and thought I saw FIFE, stupid skim reading of posts.... ;)

Besides if you think about it 'M' does look a lot like 'F' perhaps?

I just went back and reread the responses. I, too skimmed the posts. I was and am looking for the Fallout Items Mode Editor. I understand this to be the best way to change the simple things about weapons, like turning the Bozar into a sniper rifle for example, and changing damage, range, and rounds fired ratings on everything. The last time I did my searches, I found links to UGO.com, but their FIME file was removed. Any new links to FIME, anyone?

That didn't work the last few times I tried it. The time to download never refreshed, and when I searched within the site for the same file, it came up file not found. I did, however stumble across something new, thereby invalidating this whole thread.

All links tried have worked so far and the site has a nice array of the basics. Thank you guys, and sorry to waste your time. I'll try and upload something useful to make up for it.
