[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-00 AT 02:52PM (GMT)[p]There was this spaceproject in the late 50's, called "Dyna Soar", if i recall right, and it was purposed to give united states small orbital bombingstations that would drop nukes to surface... handy! Too bad they trashed that project in 63. Let's suppose that in fallout 3 there would be some of those stations in orbit with their deadly devices, and someone or something would try to use them, or there would be somekind of computer driven mechanism that awakes suddenly and thinks united states is in threat and is about to fire it's nukes to surface.

This is the best i can think at the moment, but despiting the fact that BiS won't care a rats ass about this boards messages, i still hope you will participate in my little quest to fallout storyline.

Should we put a little space-age into fallout?

Um... isn't this like THE BACKSTORY OF FALLOUT?

Seriously, what would be the goal? Break into a government facility, fight past an evil doomsday sect intent on letting the US get nuked (again) and push an anti-missile button? Convince every living person in the known wastes that they should return to fallout shelters? Find an umbrella?

While the storyline might not exactly be "on target", I do think that it is a refreshing change of pace that people are thinking of plotlines besides the same old "save your small, quaint, and by all means low profile home/homeland people by stopping/destroying an evil/megalomaniacal/crazy organization and it's leader(s).

It worked for the first Fallout, but it was getting a little hackneyed in the second, even though it was fun to play through.

Actually, the way i thought it, US didn't exist anymore, all you could think is saving your own people, in way or another. Rest of the world may think their own ways.

It would be unbelievably refreshing not having to care about anything but saving your own ass for a change.

the u.s. dosent exist in fallout per sey but...BUT...there are remnants of the enclave and the ncr left at the end of fallot 2..both of wich are in some sick way trying to restart a united states like goverment

i like the idea...include something about the atom cannon....yep...giant howitzer built in the late fifties..the idea was a depleted plutonium round could be shot for surface to air warfare....it acually worked well EXCEPT the cannon couldnt cool down even slightly fast enough to practically get another shot off,so they scrapped it

I don't know about the whole "destroy/stop-the-deadly-weapon plotline, but while we're on the subject, what about the current orbital rail gun technology that is being researched by NASA and U.S. defense scientists?
