Ok, I would be interested in doing a Nordic world to Fallout NV and for that I need new stuff brought into the GECK.
I have been considering of porting in stuff from Oblivion and Skyrim, but I need to learn how to do that.
So first I have a couple of questions:
1.) Is porting allowed on these forums? At least in the Nexus forums it is generally not allowed. Can I publish ported content in these forums?
2.) How to port stuff from other Bethesda games, like Oblivion and Skyrim to FNV? What do I need to do to integrate the meshes and textures to the GECK?
3.) Someone said that porting animals and other creatures from Oblivion and SKyrim is difficult because they have different kinds of skeletons. What exactly is the problem with those skeletons and can it be fixed so we can bring the creatures over to Fallout? Also is there someone talented enough in the forums to accomplish this goal?
4.) If we cannot use already existing content from other games, are there willing and able 3d modelers and texture makers able to make new models from scratch to be published as modders resources?
OK, so what I´d like to do is get some new stuff either from other games or make them from scratch and make whole new worlds for Fallout NV (and later Fallout 4).
For a Nordic world set in either Northern Europe or Canada we would need at least the following:
Trees:
*Fir
*Pine
*Birch
*Other Trees and bushes that grow in the north
*Terrain textures and grass textures
*Rocks
*Plants (harvestable and non-harvestable)
Animals:
*We could get a rabbit mesh and texture from ARMA 2 if we can get it to work in FNV
*animals from Oblivion and Skyrim
* If we have some talented model makers then we could get some more creatures for the game (mutated and normal creatures)
Robots:
* I´ve seen some good robot models in other mods and of course we could use those if we get permission.
* Again if we have some talented modelers here, they could make us some new robos.
Vehicles:
*If I could get permission from Bohemia Interactive to use their vehicle models from ARMA 2, we could get a lot of new vehicles to scatter around wasteland as wrecks, mainly modern military vehicles from NATO and Russia, but also some Civilian vehicles as well.
Buildings:
* I´m working on making some Nordic house models myself, so given time I can make different types of buildings.
*We could bring over some building models from other games.
* If there are modelers here who are interested in making buildings, that would be good.
Clutter and miscellaneous world objects:
* There´s HUGE amounts of usable stuff already in existence in other games, if we can port that stuff over.
* Of course we can make our own.
Building & Dungeon interiors etc:
* Again we could bring in stuff from other games, like Oblivion and Skyrim etc. or...
*...We could make our own.
I´ve seen some nice cave and dungeon interiors in Oblivion, so if it is possible to use them, then that would be good.
I´ve also seen some nice grass, plants and trees in Oblivion and those would make for very good world objects in Fallout as well.
Also, I´ve seen nice animals and creatures in Oblivion (Haven´t tested Skyrim yet, but expect to Find nice stuff there too).
It would be nice to do worlds in Fallout which are a bit more greener than the Capital wasteland of Fallout 3, which is a treeless urban nightmare or Fallout NV, which is barren desert.
Since I am a Finn, I would be interested in a Nordic environment, like that found in N-Europe or most of Canada and Alaska.
Interesting environments would also be a more temperate climate, like that of England, France, Germany or Eastern US (Virginia and the southern states and Appalachians). Mediterranean environment (Spain, Italy, Greece etc.). Also Asian environments would be interesting (Japan, China,Korea, Southern Asia)
If there are any interested in making different climate based world object and terrain texture packs, then contact me.
Cheers!
