New Vegas - where are you now?

Hi I'm new! Recent convert from Call of Duty, and now I spend my spare time playing New Vegas. Simple point to the thread - tell us all about your current character, where you are right now, and your playing style/setup.

I'm level 34 at the moment, having restarted the day Dead Money was released. I decided to play as a woman (no particular reason) and with a predominantly intelligence-based setup geared towards sniping. Maxed out Guns, Intelligence, Repair, Lockpick, Science, Barter and something else that escapes me. Most of my perks were Intense Training, but the most important other ones are Adamantium Skeleton and Sniper (as I'm clumsy and tend to go into VATS mode a hell of a lot). I mostly use scoped Hunting Rifles and the Gobi Campaign Rifle.

Currently, I am on Dead Money, as I waited as long as possible before opening it to give myself an advantage. It's not that fun really, but I suppose I'll grow into it. I'm just interested to see where it goes/ends.

How about you guys?
 
I'm playing from the beginning now, as a black dude relying more on non-combat skills (gotta have all them skill checks done), while occasionaly putting some points into weapons skills (though mostly guns). I play on Hard Hardcore difficulty and currently am around Novac, cleared out Nelson, fixed Helios One and on the way to outter Vegas.

Started again for purpose of trying out Dead Money.
 
On my 6th or 7th game (lost count), and decided to go with a ninja character. But since my last character was a pure melee character, I decided to keep my current character balanced with melee and guns -- that way I can snipe super mutants and deathclaws effectively. I usually wear Chinese Stealth Armor with a Slave Scarf on my head, or black Combat Armor with a Legion Prime Helmet. And weild a Machete Gladius, or Mysterious Magnum, or a Suppressed Sniper Rifle.

Just made it to level 20, but have not commited to NCR or Legion, or House yet. I also waited until I was level 17 or 18 to get a companion (Raul), but I dismissed him right away for Arcade Gannon... then decided to try to get all the companions in the game, as quickly as possible.

So I recruited Rex (fixed his brain, then dismissed him) and ED-E and Cass. I have Cass now, and decided to do her side-missions. I just have Boone, Veronica, and Lily left to recruit. As for the main quest, I have just killed Benny (in the Tops) and given the Platinum Chip back to House -- who then gave it right back to me.

Third replay, level 16. Tried to do do For the republic, part 2, but something got seriously fucked up when dealing with Khans (just threw a granade into the hous they were in, waited for explosion and got out, and then Papa Khan just disappeared), so I ended up killing House, and installing Yes Man in House's mainframe.

Focused on Energy Weapons, with EW on 100, medicine, repair, science and speech around 70.
 
My first is independent. Most used weapon is the holorifle, but I've realized how I've been overusing it. So I've branched out. Currently prepping him for Zion. Level 35.

Second is NCR. This character is female.

Third is House. This is my badass revolvers only Lone Ranger.

Fourth is Ceaser. This is my Ninja playthrough. Bladed melee weapons only. Best wepon currently is Chance's knife.

Fifth is NCR. This character is an energy weapons only BOS paladin. Hardcore.

Sorry for being a grammar nazi, but it's "Caesar". But I did also want to say that Chance's Knife is a great choice for a "bladed melee weapons only" character. I am pretty sure it has the highest DPS of any bladed weapon (not counting Blade of the East), and the only blade that really compares is the Machete Gladius, but it can be tricky to get one of those if you are sided with the legion. :wink:
 
I stopped playing for a while on my current character until Honest Hearts comes out. When Dead Money came on my last character I got tons of caps and loot from DM but I barely had any quests left or stuff to do so none of it did me any good, trying to prevent that from happening this time.
 
I`m on my second playthrough with 33 lv stuck in the end area of dead money cause it crashes every fucking time I want to get back to Mojave. I`m frustrated.
