Newbie to modding/scripting

Hello,

Seeing how this community is very helpfull I want to ask you guys a little help about basic scripting, focusing primarily on NPC dialogue. I don't know which programs to use for scripting that are newbie friendly.
I don't have any programming skills but with some good tutorials I think I can manage it , and what program do you use like mapper but more updated?

Also if you search back a little you can find plenty of scripting threads for examples
For scripting download Timeslip's sfall modder pack

I found that this is the easier scripting tool.

Thank you for your help, I saw the sticky about scripting but it seems pretty outdated so I asked here to see if there was new tutorials and programs.
