- Update #2 -

The time the cast will start is around 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, on Saturday April 9th. As we've done before, we'll allow time for everyone to arrive and make sure everything's working before starting the recording and live play.

- Update #1 -

April 9th is a potential podcast date.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Figured I'd start this thread up to help stir ideas and thoughts about what's coming.

First though, here's a finger-gun-to-head reveal I came across today: An image of The Mechanist, or at least someone wearing his costume, as an Achievement image for the XBOX One. So, it's very likely this will be that Mechanist.

Next, as with the podcasts before, here's some initial and ongoing questions to drive discussion. (Add more if you think of some.)

- Is this the Mechanist we found in Fallout 3, or someone who just found/inherited his suit? If so, then is there going to be a second "superhero" we have to deal with? - (We now know who The Mechanist was, so half of this is answered.)
- Are any of the 'Perks' affected by this DLC?
- What is the end goal of this DLC, if any?
- What would you have done differently? - Ben Soto
- With Fallout 5 rumors buzzing around, what do you think is coming next? - Ben Soto
- If Fallout 5 was to be the last one, what would you do with the IP, if you owned it? - Paladin Waffles
- Aesthetics and Tone of future Fallouts, likely FO5, and a comparison of these two things between Fallout 4 and New Vegas - Practicat
- What was your favorite line of dialogue, either serious or funny, in Fallout 4? - Ben Soto
- What was your favorite line of dialogue, either serious or funny, in the Fallout series as a whole? - Ben Soto
- What was the worst quest in Fallout 4, and why? - RangerBoo
- If you have any complaints about the original games (Fallout 1 and 2), what are they? - Ben Soto

And, since we just had the massive 2.2 GB patch the other day, did anything really important get fixed, or is it just a consolation patch that does little beyond try and retain waning interest?

Get ready. The first wave approaches.

Firstly, when are we doing this podcast? I want to join, but if it's on a school day, it ain't gonna work out. I personally think the first Saturday in April would be good.

Secondly, are we doing this podcast through Skype or Google Hangouts?

Thirdly, I'd like to add to the questions "what would you do differently" and "now that Fallout 5 rumors are buzzing around, what do you want out of the next game in the series?"

My question was gonna be how would you end the fallout series if you had one final game but the guy above me said something similar to that.

I would be interested in discussing what kind of aesthetics and tone (such as those of the Old West in FNV) would be great in a future Fallout game.

#1 - I have no idea, but the first Saturday of April would be a good day to shoot for. (If the DLC is not out by then, we'll move it back as needed.)

#2 - Depends. The last poster in the other thread mentioned doing a livestream with us joining in to talk, so probably a mix of Twitch and Skype, though I'll have to find a way to record the stream depending on who hosts the call.

#3 - Nice. I'll add them into the OP.

I'll add it in anyway.

Nice. This long after the game has released, it's quite clear that Bethesda went for minor world details rather than the macro ones you see in New Vegas.

I said in the last thread I'd be interested in this one and I would even stream the gameplay from my PlayStation so you guys don't have to deal with Bethesda Fanboyism commentary.
However, if we are doing it in April, the 9th is the earliest in terms of a weekend I can do (as I would be away from my PlayStation for a couple weeks).

My idea wasn't a comparison between tone in FNV and in F4. It was discussing tone in a future Fallout game. But I support also discussing the comparison like you mentioned.

The 9th would be a good time. (I'll be preparing to move to a new place the following week, but my desktop/laptop should still be working and ready to record.)

Oh, whoops.

Well, I guess we have a semi-answer to the question of if this is that Mechanist.

And this DLC lands on the 22nd, so we'll have plenty of time to look into this.

Hopefully, the 9th will be good for me. I'll have to track down a decent internet cafe or something.

I should have a new air conditioner by then, mine took a dump. If you must ask, it's because my 980 Ti is like a heater plus it's pretty hot out for being "winter" considering there's no snow. :P

By August, I'll be able to hopefully provide the footage for any future podcasts. I'm getting my rig around then.

I'm getting an i5-6600k, 16gb of DDR4, a 1tb HDD, a 240gb SSD, and either an R9 390 or a similarly priced Pascal/Polaris card. It'll hopefully keep me gaming for a long time (or until Volta comes out)

EDIT: I'm in Arizona, meaning right now I'm technically in PST.

Very nice, although I recommend getting a 2TB drive at 7200 RPM if you have the funds. Makes gaming much smoother with high demand software. RAM-wise, what's the megahertz on it? (I'm assuming at least 2400 between two or four sticks.)

I haven't bought the parts yet, but when I do so over the summer, I'll be having a budget of around $920. I've tried to fit a 2tb drive in there and without getting a Seagate drive, I'm not getting a 2tb drive.

Hmm. Working around a small case?

I recently upgraded, but for modesty I won't wave my digital-penis about .. I'll just say it's pretty sweet, and streaming wont be an issue...

I need to look into a new processor while I'm at it. Unfortunately that means buying a new motherboard and cooler. I'm still running with my old i5 3570k that I've had for around 3 years but I think it's time for an upgrade, was thinking of an i7 6700k. Like to sort of pseudo-futureproof my processor for gaming.
