NMA RSS Feed

I've just installed a RSS feed here on NMA, where you can get the news on our feed. You might scratch yourself now and wonder: "what's RSS?", so here's a small explanation:
RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites like Wired, news-oriented community sites like Slashdot, and personal weblogs.
Credit for the explanation goes to XML.com.

Thanks. I was waiting for this for a VERY long time (actually, wanted to send you a mail in a few days about it).

You see, by providing an rss feed, other systems can easily retrieve content from this site, and display them on another system. Thus, you can easily create a page that retrieves the headlines from say, slashdot, wired, and NMA, and shows it in a custom styled way.

Only one question; if we provide the link/copyright to NMA, can I display the headlines on my own site ? Or is it purely for human readers/news readers ?

Edit: Is it possible to remove the: 'News Comments ::' for every title ?

Thanks, this is something every website should have... and I'll certainly use this one.
BTW, you may want to put the small orange RSS button under "Latest Headlines" or somewhere, so people can find a link to the RSS after the news is "gone".

Erm, well I haven't really taken a stand about that but it is what it's for, ie readers and other sites.. So sure, go ahead..

Removed..

ok, thanks. I'll incorporate the feed at my site asap, then you can give your approval if you think it's ok.

Yeah I know, that also one of the reason I've narrowed down the feed itself. Btw I'm warming up to this whole RSS thingie, kinda cool...

Those things auto-update every half hour? Shee-at.

Just thinking out loud: There's not a way you can stop the constant checking by playing with the feed itself is there? IE: If this IP address checked the rss feed only half an hour ago, don't send them squat.

There should be a way to control the feed from the website you'd think. So sites that ARE updated every hour or so can show current feeds, while sites that might update once a day (or at least have only signifigantly changed a day later) might update well, once a day.
