GTS - Global Travel System

We have waited a long time, but patience is rewarded. Yossarian22 managed to beat Fallout 3 into submission and make it compatible with an actual worldmap allowing you to travel across the states! Let's hear it from the man himself:
Yah, but what this Mod actually does? It adds the entire World map of America, from the very north to the south end and an additional Map of the entire World. To discover the American Continent you can find an aged highwayman at the gas station in Springvale for your free use. It has a Trunk for your Stuff also. If you like to discover Islands, locations at the coast or places far away from the American continent, you have to travel to a Seaport at the East coast, where you can find a Boat for travel.
To point it, the purpose of this mod is to give Mod-Creators an immersive and easy way to create every mod and content they can imagine without bother about how to connect them with the original world or to conflict with other content. They not even have to touch or open one of the original cells. A Mod that is optimized to GTS can be reached by every Player, who has GTS installed.
I made it as easy as it was possible for a Mod-Creator to make his own Mod run with GTS without issues. So, no matter if you want connect an already finished mod or plan to make a Mod with GTS, it should not take much longer than maybe 5-10 min in G.E.C.K. and 4 simple work-steps.
Grab it from NMA and the Fallout 3 Nexus.

Wattz Weapons Pack

The Wattz 2000 pistols from the package

JoeFoxx just doesn't give up! After bringing the splendid Wattz 2000 Laser Rifle and the SIG-Sauer 14mm Pistol back into Fallout 3, he created an entire pack that supplements the selection of laser firearms in the game with laser pistols from the originals, without removing the original AER-9 and AEP-7 laser weapons!

While lore-wise this mod is a little shaky, there is no denying that it's currently one of the most awesome Fallout 3 mods in existence. What does it do?

Simple: it allows you to summon Enclave vertibirds for strafing runs or to drop off troops from the Enclave or both Brotherhood factions, together with the accompanying robots, for fire support and mayhem. J3X has done one hell of a job on this one!

Grab it from NMA and the Fallout 3 Nexus.

This JoeFoxx guy deserves beer, cookies and booty on a daily basis for the rest of his life - as much as he can drink, eat and beat!

Awesome works, congratulations to him wherever he is! :ok:

So, the GTS. Is it a Fallout 3 sized America, or is it just specific locations in America that you can travel to (ala the originals) with an accompanying updated Pip-boy map?

You can say, the GTS mod makes the Fallout 3 Washington DC location to one big location on the map. Like in the original games. But the system works a bit different: At first you are normal in DC, you do whatever you want. To leave this area, you can go to a car and use it. Then you will be teleported to a desert map with this car. From this map you can go to the pipboy and see hole america with the locations as landmarks. From this point you can enter everything on the america continent (as example the Washington DC location). Now the mod writer has included a small sea port location with a ship. If you go there, you can use the ship to get teleported to a sea map- from there you can open up the pipboy with the map again and see the hole world with landmarks. Here you could get to every location on the hole world.

It is a pretty nice idea and gives a bit Vampire: Bloodlines feeling to me.

It is very important that modders create new locations with this as basis or the hole worldmap thing is useless. And this would be a shame.

Those laser pistols sure are pretty. Too bad these can't be ported onto the Xbox version, that being the only choice I have to play on atm. That and I'm deathly bored of Fallout 3.

i'm quite impressed with the Commander mod. sure looks nice in the vid. though it makes me wonder how buggy it is. i can imagine it not being easy to script if you call this thing in inside the city or something...

and the weapon skins look nice (dislike the upgraded version though, but i hated the FO2 upgraded one as well). anyhow, very nice work there too.

The world mad is a great idea IMO (although, I still haven't checked it). The Commander is just trying to be too awesome, but it's still fun and probably buggy as hell.

Good to see old weapons coming in.

The GTS mod is so promising! I really hope people use it for mod making, because with the foundations of something like this, it's not a stretch to have a true Fallout style mod emerge.
