While replaying Fallout New Vegas, I found myself inexplicably less tolerant towards the enchantments provided by the various apparels, so I decided to hack together a mod removing extra skill boosts provided by these items. I also made small modifications to items that I thought provided too much of a elemental resistance boost. For instance, Ulysses' Mask now only gives +10% to Rad Resistance instead of +50%, and the T51-b PA no longer provides a +1 CHR boost.
At first, I made the mod for my personal use, since I couldn't find one on New Vegas Nexus, but I thought what the hey, there must be someone out there who feels the same way as I do. So, if anyone's interested, you can download it from the link below
There's also a compatibility patch for use with Sawyer's mod. I corresponded with him on Twitter and he was fine with me sharing it. If you don't use his mod (though I highly recommend you do), then you don't need the compatibility patch; just install No Enchanted Apparels.esp. If you use it, then load No Enchanted Apparels (JSpatch).esp after it. Both .esps should also be loaded after jsawyer.esp (assuming you're using it).
One last thing: it was made with the DLCs in mind too . I'm not sure if it works without them.
Update: the modifications I made for the compatibility patch weren't working. I've fixed them and uploaded a new version, and the apparels should be non-enchanted as intended now. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
