According to this newsbit on Yahoo Finance Interplay reports that they don't have the funds to finance IPLY through the next period without the ability to raise money and that they don't have any "assurances" to alternate funding right now:<blockquote>The company anticipates its current cash reserves, plus its expected generation of cash from existing operations, will not be sufficient to fund its anticipated expenditures through the second quarter of fiscal 2004," Interplay said in the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

"Consequently, the company expects that it will need to substantially reduce its working capital needs and/or raise additional capital," Interplay said. "However, no assurance can be given that alternative sources of funding could be obtained on acceptable terms, or at all."</blockquote>No shit Sherlock..Like we didn't know this..So Hervie: good plan!

I believe the reason Hervie boy is saying that they intend to develop FOOL is to attact publishers and thus money, still when this news comes out right after it's like begging for money (read dick) like the whore he is..

Talk about selling out..

the longer this goes on, the more certain i am that he is only doing this to piss us off and lurks at this forum to look at the results...

I was meeting a friend at the used bookstore they helped out with now and then. We chatted for some time in her section (sci-fi), until she was called away to attend to some problem one of the other employees had with sorting. I then looked through a bit of the shelves, and noticed a thin piece of overpriced bullshit. The Ferengi's Rules of Acquisition, or some such bullshit like that. I don't really advocate reading Star Trek books, not anymore. Anyways, I thumbed through it and noticed that it had a lot of familiar things.

Holy shit! It was nothing more than Fifi's entire business plan! So Interplay was just unlucky enough to have published or made enough games to invite the richest King of the Trek 'Tards, who also coincidentally happened to be involved (loosely) in the gaming industry.

After the disaster that was FO:BOS (no, not the tactics one, the console one), I'm surprised he'd think the Fallout license sells. FO:BOS tanked hard. What makes him think the Fallout license is actually worth anything now?

lol, I quite agree. :D

He's like a dying beast lashing out and trying to do as much damage as he can before he goes down. We could spend all day trying to come up with different ways of desecrating the Fallout license, and he'd still top us.

My guess is he is simply not entirely connected with reality. Any business plan that includes the step "And then a miracle happens!" just isn't gonna work.

Heres a good plan that could make them money.

Make Fallout:3 with the following specs
-Turnbased only, like the good FO games
-Singleplayer only, like the good fallout games
-with the actual 50's theme, like the good fallout games.

If they made that, I would buy it. An online game though ?

No thx.
