Not getting any money from selling things

I'm bartering with the gecko piss guy (in klamath) and I sell a throwing knife & a crowbar. I'm supposed to get 180 dollars from the transaction but when I exit the gold pile in my inventory doesn't change (it still remains at 172). The items are gone. I've tried bartering with the woman trader in the same town with the same result. What is going on? I'm using the fallout 2 restoration mod and on Vista. First time playing by the game by the way so I am rather unclear on a few things.

P.S. The Rat God was hell to fight against. And I only just discovered 2 minutes ago that you can rest and heal via pipboy altho the amount healed is ridiculous.

You don't just get the money that your stuff is worth, you have to take the money and/or stuff from the person you're bartering with (from their inventory). Now you are just giving your stuff away for free.

Also, the amount healed when resting is ridiculous how?

By ridiculous, I mean it doesn't heal much.

By the way, the character profile indicates that my char is under the effect of radiation. Exactly what does this do?

Probably little or nothing. If you keep absorbing (a lot) more radiation and don't do anything about it you may get temporary stat penalties, but this is very unlikely in Fallout 2, unfortunately.

When resting up, use First Aid and/or Doctor in between each rest period to speed things up.
