NPC modding?

Hello. I always wanted to improve some of the NPCs in the game (like Lenny), but I never managed to find their data in master.dat file. Is it possible to edit their stats, like APs per level, etc? If yes, where should I look for their stats?

Judging by the existence of the Miria mod I'd say it is possible. Can't say much else myself, though.
 
you must find the corosponsing proto files of the NPC you like to edit and then modify them them with the FUCK program. Its download able via NMA's download page.
 
Or just use the officail FO2 mapper to edit the proto files. You may need to 'rebuild the map' for it to reload the correct proto as the map file stores a copy of the proto internally (I think)

Or jsut remove lenny from the mapp and re add him again.
 
Thanks a lot. the FUCK utility seems not to have any possibility to edit the number of levels NPC gain. Any clues? I wanted to investigate the level6 bug - that doesn't allow NPCs that have 6 levels to reach 6th (Namely Vic, sulik, goris and dogmeat), it's kinda irritating, but since I don't know which variables are connected with the level-uping..

Or maybe it is a hardcoded bug?

I've heard that the only way to bring them to 6th level is adding a dummy level 7, so this 'bug' will treat lvl7 as the last one and allow your NPCs to reach 6th. I haven't tried, maybe it's just a rumor, but since the MiriaMod creator did that in his mod..

But I still don't know why those damn NPCs don't want to reach level 6.
