NPC with a lot of money!

First time out of the vault
Hi Tribals, Vault Dwellers, Ghouls, Prostitutes etc.

It's the very first time I've played Fallout 2, and I only got it a few days ago, because I remembered we played it on our schools computer when I was like 10 years old. But at that time, we didn't do much english, so we kindda didnt understand the game.

Anyways. I think it's an awesome game, but for now, I have a kind of a luxury problem. I got like 600 Pounds of weapons, from Robbers and Mercenarys, and I really would like to get rid of 'em and get the money.

So my problem is:

Is there any NPC who has a LOT of money, so I can sell my weapons to him/her? Or is there any stash of some kind I can get, that has a lot of space? (My cars trunk is also totally stuffed up!)

Best Regards

Crillegs

In Redding there's a bank. I think they only have about 2000 coins or so, though.

Redding is a good place to trade, so is New Reno (go trade your goods for meds that have no or little weight), NCR has a decent stock to barter and san fran has a lot of highpriced stuff you might want to trade for.

The best way is probably to trade for good ammo, since it doesn't take up trunk space. Get stuff like 10mm AP, 5mm AP, .223 FMJ, 4.7mm Caseless and 2mm EC which you or an NPC can use to great effect with one weapon or another.

Thanks Guys... I'll keep that in mind.. Per, Where do you get 4.7 Caseless.... The HK G11 is great, but 4.7 Caseless are damn hard to find!

If you can get to San Francisco, the shopkeepers there have a lot of money. Also, try resting or going somewhere else to allow them to restock.

You can get large amount of 4.7 ammo thanks to Hubologists near San Francisco- just try to find encounters 'hubologists fighting a press gang' or something like that.
Be careful though, press gang hits hard.

I think the SF guns merchant has some and also remember to check if he sells any HK G11s that you can get ammo from. Buster in NCR sells a little 2mm sometimes and possibly also Caseless (rightmost cupboard).

But then he'd accumulate Power Fists and Plasma Grenades and it'd take that much longer to convert it into cash/ammo...

Got a similar "problem" with my game.

Got 30.000 gold(at level 18), four companions inventories full of miniguns and flamethrowers, grenades etc, just weapons.

This comes from bartering being at a 120% though :D

These days i don't even loot, just run around and leave the dead with their backpacks intact.

Far less gamebreaking to keep Barter around 20%. I edited mine down past that and was still doing random encounters to buy Power Armor.

Yeah, but with my other char with barter around those parts, and no companions to carry stuff, i'm still having "too much" cash laying about. I'm a packrat though when it comes to these kind of things.

"Oooh, useless junk! Bet i could get atleast a coin out of that!"

I'm a packrat and a miser. Any time I can trade for cash I will. And I never pay cash for anything, always trade. After cash, I acquire weightless items: radaway, all the drugs, lighters, nuka cola, beer (but not booze) all the radiated liquors, etc. And, I never pay for anything with weightless items. After weightless items, I trade for ammo (although, unlike Per, I only accumulate .223, shotgun shells, 10mm, magnum rounds, and small energy cells), which I store in the trunk. Quest items I give to my party members until I need 'em. This way, I always can carry enough armor, guns, and ammo for myself and still be able to loot bodies and containers (which I then promptly move to party members or the trunk until trading).

One goal is to reserve cash for those transactions where only cash will serve. $73,000 cash for all four implants at the cheapest place. No bartering, just cash. That's a lot of moolah.

Another goal is to have enough weightless items to just plop down payment in full for power armors, gauss weapons, caseless ammo, other expensive items - usually toward the end of the game at San Fran.

This means lots of trips to Redding and San Fran for large infusions of cash later on. But if you play like this from the beginning, you can rack up approximately $30,000 in cash just from little guys.

I also like to give Sulik a H&K and about 1,300 rounds of ammo, put him on "Burst Always" and just let him go to town. Hell, I'll take the stimpacks when he hits me. I have hundreds. Slightly funny when he deals 226 points of damage to a rat, but, hey, that's what I keep all the ammo for.

The real fun in all this misering is when you show up to take on all of Navarro with a full party in advanced power armor, you've got all four implants, and your party is outfitted with gauss rifles, MAWs, Bozars, mega power fists, and all the ammo you could possibly need. Forget the BB gun targeted to the eyes, just budget wisely and buy the armor and the weapons to do the job in a full-on firefight.
