First time out of the vault
Hey. I recently decided to replay the Fallout series and I'm having some sort of bug(?) in Fallout 2 (all patched).

After protecting Grisham's herd from the wild dogs, Sulik and Vic no longer follow me - that is, they just stand in their place and move only when combat occurs.

I've tried to change formations, but no luck; As I've found nothing about this on the forums I'm guessing this is a fairly simple issue and I'm just kinda slow, so any help would be appreciated.

Alright. Consider this post irrelevant: I managed to fix this in a rather peculiar way - I dragged Vic along into Vault City (by having him try to repair just about anything within reach, thats' the only way he would follow me), until we met up with his daughter in the maintenance center. After the 'cutscene' ended, my party members resumed normal behaviour.

Yup, known problem, triggered when talking to Miria and being caught by Grisham.

Okay, bringing an old ass thread back to life, but I figure it is better than starting a new one.

After playing FO3, I was feeling nostalgic, and went and bought FO2 again. I used the resolution pastch and SFALL. Didn't want to change much, just make it be a bit nicer on a newer computer.

Anywho, i was playing, and things were going good. I had a random encounter with some golden geckos. After the fight, I leave combat, and leave. When I get to town, I realize Sulik isn't moving. he sits right where he loads up. I can't talk to him at all. I only get the hand icon (as if I'm stealing from him) and the binoculars. When I look at him, it doesn't show him as being crippled. If i use doctor (which my skill is very low) doesn't say anythign about him being crippled, only that I didn't heal him.

If I go to a different part of town, same thing. I tried reloading (sadly right after the fight with the geckos) Sulik is in the same spot where combat was ended, and same thing. I can 'steal' from him, but I can't talk to him, he doesn't move.

I have not even been to Modoc, so I can't have triggered whatever bug happens with Miria. Do I need to start a new game? Won't be the worst as I'm not too far in, but I'd rather not if i can avoid it.

Cheers,
-Chaz

And you probably clicked on him before he recovered. For some reason that makes them 'lock up' and stop responding to anything. It reminds me of this bug:
Per's guide said:
"Sometimes after becoming a Made Man of the Salvatores, Boss Salvatore stops talking to me or reacting to anything unless I attack him or his people, then he will try to run away. Even if I steal his Oxygen Tank and/or plant the Poison Tank there is absolutely no reaction. The only notable thing he does is standing and waving his arms occasionally. When I get this bug Boss Mordino will claim Salvatore is still alive if I killed Salvatore in combat." The bug triggers if you click on Salvatore after becoming a Made Man; at that point his script freezes, failing to set the proper variable if he's killed and making an assassination impossible (you can test this by shooting him once and then checking your character sheet - if you're still a Made Man, the bug is active).
I think Killap fixed that in his patch, so maybe there's a way to fix it for party members as well.

I remember that happening to me. I think i solved it just by playing on. After a few more combats he reacted normally again but it's been a long while.
