I just replayed Outpost 2 : divided destiny. Its a pretty damn good colony management game. You REALLY do feel a sense of urgency in the missions as you either outrace the blight or the volcanos, and the whole thing really makes you feel as if you are managing a colony.
The story?Oh my god totally kick ass.Everytime you finish a mission you get told a portion of the story, sorta like a chapter in a novel, for 12 chapters in all(both side storys are slightly different i believe). Its wonderfully written, and it should..........they hired a professional sci-fic writer to do it.And damn is it well done.
Its a damn shame games never come with this kind of storylines anymore. All you get is the usual crap like kill xxx bad guys to reach the villain and theres usually a last minute betrayal by one of main characters, and maybe a good guy or 2 dies in a dramatic way.......
And i dont understand why people kept saying half life 2 storyline was good.........aside from the VERY minor twist(that really doesnt do anything) at the end,its the standard "shoot bad guys.shoot aliens." crap all the way through.......
