on my old computer the speakers WERE working fine just a couple days ago, but now even if i have no sound playing i hear stupid "Feedback noise" crackles and such, i checked the connections and they're fine. Was just curious if there was any EASY way to fix this. Did I mention I know very little about computer hardware? =]

I'd recommend trying another set of speakers in the sound card. You may have simply blown the speakers which means they are shot. But if a new set of speakers does the same thing then your sound card may be bad.

Open it up and have a look and tell us if anything looks damaged, so we can make a more accuret assumption.

What most likely happend was a current build up. Some electronics will draw in more energy than they use, and the energy biulds up in the wire. Most cords can resist this, but in extream cases you can melt the inside. Just leave the seekers unplugged for a day or so and try again.

I could've sworn that the title was "Old Crappy SNEAKERS."

hey no worries guys, i turned off the speakers for about a day and now everything is A-OK, and besides i picked up my new computer today

but on another note, im having trouble networking them togather, for file transfer and so forth. Umm.. I have a Router and i managed to have them both Connected to the internet via cable modem and so forth. I think the main problem is my old computer is a hunk of junk. Not really asking any questions on how to fix it just yet, just though i'd post this.
