"Putting some of the community into my games is something I like to do. In Fallout, a few of the characters were named after some of the message board posters. In SFC, some of the captain and ship names came from the fans. I don't know if we will be able to do something like the UV special encounter, but I expect something will be done."

Yeah! :-). It would be cool to put something like UV vs. Spammer, but it would be NMA vs. FOOL! What everyone think???

(this is intended as a general post, not BOS specific related)

are you sure that the fans didn't name themselves from things out of the game?

I mean the other way... If Fallout 2 could include a random encounter with the Unwashed Villagers (another Fallout/RPGs community), why don't include a No Mutants Allowed random encounter??

Well the UV being in FO2 already was a small miracle and it mainly happened because the UV were part of the interplay fallout messageboard. I doubt the IP guys know who we are.

*wonders if anyone would recognise the name Eli Havelock.....*

RE: Wasn't he in the Smoldering Corpse in PS:T?

No.

He was one of the instructors in the Civic Festhall. Particularly the one who trained thiefly skills. But his intents were more towards subterfuge and spying, the more noble aspects of a rogue.

Well, if IP's asked Miroslav to down the link to acm2wav, so, they surely know that NMA exists ;-).

I didn't know too much about what happened with UV, but, as far as I know (and what people say), NMA is one of the biggest Fallout community's. But, I recently saw the quantity of registrated visitors on the forums and, well 600 is a very small number (proportionally to the number of Fallout 1 or 2 copies sold over the world).

But, come on, they talk about "including the Fallout community into games", we're a community, do you think that there will be zero possibilities?

Well let's just say that I don't think the NMA community has enough personality to make it into the game. On NMA there are dozens of people that come and go, so we're not really a close community. Also we didn't do anything special like chasing spammers away from the fallout 2 board like the UV did with Dr. Atomiq. I wouldn't say the posibillities are zero, but I think our chances are very slim. Not that it matters much to me.

I dunno....

We do have an inkling to chase FOOLS out with a passion. I doubt we'll be in FOT:BOS :)

Hey, a bar with a No Mutants Allowed sign isn't a bad idea, it's easy (I think...), and it doesn't takes too much space. Maybe not a random encounter but just a cafe or bar where it says that!
Wow... The admins would be the waitress attending the visitors, Miroslav could be repainting the bar/cafe, and... I would be the manager and Alicia my wife.. Ha! I like the idea j/k ;))))))))))))

Back to reality, yeah, maybe you're right, NMA has almost no possibilities... But if everyone (including me) wants to see NMA in some Fallout related game, we could start promoting the site. If the forum can get 5.000 registered users or more than 5.000 hits per day, I think it would mean that NMA is well known and maybe there will be the moment to *plea* for BIS to include us in Fallout 3 (Hmm... Fallout 3 sounds MUCH better than BOS).

What you people think?

Well

The thing is that we're chasing the fools from our backyard, not Interplays. Have you seen the Interpplay FO2 board recently?
