One-handed Melee Character?

You would propalby have to resort to knives, with the Ripper as the ultimate melee weapon for one handed melee users.

Of course, you can also bet on luck and hope to get a special encounter with an unique one-handed melee weapon, much stronger than the knife, but only available if you have luck 9 or higher... though it's rather an easter egg, as it has a... disturbing appearance. Think an artificial cock.

I wouldn't recommend playin as a character like that, but it would be very interesting.

Agility would be a must, for an increased AC, as well as strength. Perception you might want to keep low, as you don't need to be overally perceptive in close quarters combat. Luck is also important, as the Grizzly man said :P

Pick the one hander trait and go for it.

Afaik, one hander boosts your starting unarmed skill and leaves your melee weapons skill the same. Now, i don't really know if fallout will actually bother doing anything more than change your basic stats, but in essence, all you're doing is trading in about half the the weapons in the game in return for a 20%ish boost to starting unarmed skill.

*shrug* I just wouldn't bother.

No it doesn't. It only gives a bonus to one-handed weapons, which includes the unarmed weapons, but not unarmed combat.

What are you talking about? I can't remember coming across anything like that in the games. Besides, nowhere have I heard of any special encounter having a luck requirement like that.
