OOC-Chapter 3 Lone Wanderers, new characters

welsh

Junkmaster
Anyone interested in joining the Lone Wanderers story line, just post here! We are due to start chapter 3 soon (probably this week).

If you are not familiary with the story, please read through Chapts 1 and 2 as well as ask any questions you might have.

New Characters always welcome.

Khan raider leaders

Well the only problem we have with the Khan Raiders is that they are in California and Lone Wanderers are not. The best guess is that the Lone Wanderers are somewhere in the American Southwest, between Texas and Arizona, maybe up to Utah and Colorado.

The Khans seemed to be a California group. However, it might be possible to bring in a character who is the leader of raiders. What do you have in mind? Are you also thinking of him as an evil character or a good character?

new character

Welcome and certainly. There is a character thread below somewhere. Its a good opportunity to introduce the basics of your character.

From there we might be able to find a place to slip him in. Don't rush to enter, but find a good place where the introduction fits the profile of your character.

The Khan Raider Leader goes where he pleases...

and such a large organization can be found world wide...

Especially considering how well know we are for our ever expanding raids and invasions.

Yes, we are self serving, through evil.

I hope that answers both questions?

Since my 2nd in command is from Finland. And since when have hide-outs all over the wasteland. And since we are trying to take over the world.

I thought that almost every ending to Fallout 1 had the Khans getting disbanded or destroyed somehow?

Oh that's what you heard yea...

but do please note, that at a time I was the last Khan. And please do note, that I knew my time was up, so I moved elsewhere in the wastelands.

So-

So Gargantua-

We can basically expect a defeated Khan leader, probably on the run from everyone else who hates him (oh the costs of a life of evil) passing by and looking for a few new friends to pass the time?

Might be better if your evil character was a raider leader who has a bit of revenge in mind for being set up by an even worse badguy.

You don't have to necessarily be a "Khan". You can just be an average, run-of-the-mill raider. In Fallout, the Khans were just at a tribe level, nothing within the range of "world-wide". I'd rather keep away from the main Fallout storyline or organizations. We don't have NCR Rangers or the Brotherhood of Steel. Instead of Rangers we've got the Blades, a fraternity who keeps to themselves but often encounter skirmishes along their borders against slavers, and instead of the Brotherhood we've got the Slayers, a group of power-armor-wearing vigilantes. You see what we're doing? We're changing around some ideals, but you've still basically got the same group without direct relation on the Fallout world. You can either make your own organization or just come from a rag tag minor denomination like a gang, or in your case, a raider tribe.

Khans really don't work

I have to agree with gunslinger, Khans really aren't working, but there are plenty of other raider groups that would. And its better if we keep this distinct from Fallout 1 or 2. There are plenty of raiders about that have a grudge these days.

The Slayers are something of a more secretive and perhaps more sinister BOS. But it was the Border Patrol that was more like the NCR rangers than the Blades. It was the borderpatrol that protected Bordertown, protected settler communities and caravans traveling to the fringe areas. It was also the Border Patrol that went out into the wastes to strike at raiders operating beyond civilization.

To me the Blades were more like feudal knights, an almost monastic order that incorporated both a strong sense of spirit and religiousity with military organization. More like the Teutonic Knights, Knights of the Temple (Templers) or the Knights of St. John (Hospitallers). Secretive like the Slayers, the Blades relied more on mass than technical sophistication. Slayers would wear power armor or utilize stealthy assassins, where the Blades used metal armor and were more organized around groups.

Because of their religious beliefs, which are a bit secretive, they clash in principle with slavers.

boy copying and pasteing sure is fun isn't it?
here's my character again just so I can show anybody who's new and annoy the not new people. Ha ha ha!

Name: Rudy Kafka
Age: 22

Description: A tall brown haired man with dark green eyes covered by aviator sun glasses. He is always seen wearing his light brown leather jacket, dusty blue jeans, and black combat boots. Slung over his shoulder is a dark green duffel bag in which he keeps anything he happens to find.

Personality: Rudy grew up in one of the few "Vault Cities" that actually survived. He thinks he knows everything there is to know about the waste as he learned all about the outside world by watching old holo-vids that he found inside the vault. Having seen some of the old pre-war movies and hereing tales of the few wanderers that were let into the city, he decided that his place was out in the world seeking adventure. So he grapped what he could from his fathers general store and left. Most would consider Rudy extremely nieve, and they would not be completely correct. Along side his nievity is a slightly skewed view of reality. In some ways he considers himself the same as his favorite heros of the old vids he used to watch. However this isn't always a bad thing as he shows very little fear in battle.

Items: HIdden inside his jacket is an old Glok 9mm that used to belong to his grandfather. Inside his duffel bag are all the items he's scavanged, these include a few stimpacks, a couple pistols, an SMG, some rations of food, a canteen, ammo for more guns than he has and a rocket launcher (sans rocket).

Combat: Rudy trained himself to use a gun and he's actaully become quite good, however when it comes to hand to hand and melee he has had his ass handed to him in many different bars across the waste. As for the more exotic weapons, Rudy has never even laid eyes on an energy weapon
