update..
I've already been here for some time, and this have been quite interesting.
My trip started off with a bang -
This really really stinks.................., Cathay delayed my flight for 5 hrs. So I missed my connecting flight to Hanzhou from HK. So NOW I am stuck at HK international airport for 4 hrs straight. argh...... Well to make matter better or worse I only had one day to prepare for this trip. My boss called my thursday night to say "You are leaving tommrow night." I was like WHAT!!! Maybe I can catch some sleep now..., after 13 hrs on the plane. Gotta go, I am using airport internet connection to post.
Here is a post I posted when I got stuck in the HK when I first arrived at the gateway to China.
And you guess it right. My boss called me one day earlier around 12:45a.m Thursday and told me "You must get on this flight which leaves at 2:15 a.m Saturday.". !!!!
I've been told for couple months that I was choosen to go, but I was also told in no uncertain terms that I'll have at least a week to settle things out. My boss blamed me for being ill prepared. But I was like "You told me to leave since March, but because of SARS, of course I couldn't go. So I am told it was hold off indefinitely. Now you tell me I have one day to prepare for a important biz trip for at least 2 months???!!!".
I arrived safely at Hangzhou around 9:00 p.m on Sunday. The funniest thing is, my client was on the same flight as me that got delayed for 5 hours from Vancouver to HK. You see the flight took off from NY to Vancouver, then went on to HK. So we actually suffered the same fate at Vancouver airport. The 2:15a.m Saturday flight took off at 7:50a.m at Vancouver. My connecting flight was taking off at 12:15p.m Sunday from HK to Hangzhou, but we made it around 12:20p.m to HK. So by the time I made it to the gate, I made it just in time to watch it take off.
The next available flight was 5 hours away. And apparently my clients suffered the same fate. So if I had pictures(which I didn't), I could have gone shopping and lunchen with them.
My first blog, on entry to China.
Here is some pictures, but since I can't upload anything, I am going to use another post I did at UW.
(please post your replies here instead of UW)
