Party exp gaining

First time out of the vault
If i kill an enemy my party members receive exp for that or they only receive exp if they kill an enemy?I they kill an enemy they only receive exp by themself's or some exp to all party?
I need to know everything how to fast upgrade all your npc party members to highest levels.Thank you.

P.s i still need upgraded power armor much, and i have olready killed the humobolist :/
That would'nt be neccesary if those damn bugs didin't showed up :x
 
You gain XP from all the kills in combat, party members only level up when you do, but not every level. Check Per's guide for more details.
If you killed the Hubologists, you can't get the Hardened Power Armor anymore.
