Patch 1.3.5

Fuji58

First time out of the vault
So I have been having a problem with the description on how to install this patch. Usually Winrar will pop up and I will decompress it into the appropriate folder. This is the installation description.

"Copy the compressed patch file into the directory that Fallout is installed to. Decompress the patch using a file decompression program such as UnRAR or WinRAR version 3.30+. Extract the files using the option to include subdirectories. Answer 'Yes' when prompted to overwrite existing files. After the files have been decompressed, you can delete patch archive from your Fallout directory."

I assume just decompressing from Winrar right into the Fallout folder will do, but I looked all around and can not find any option about subdirectories.

Some information. I have Fallout from Fallout Trilogy which seems to come with version 1.2.

Thank you for the reply. I figured it out shortly after. However I am almost positive the patch didn't take effect as I had many bugs still. Played the game anyway and it was amazing.

I agree. The only mod I can get working is the high-resolution patch. everything else seems like it does nothing. I cant get the armour one to work definitely and im not sure the other patches are working. I use gog's. Comes with 1.2. I use all teamx stuff. Cnofused

You might have to make the files readonly after extraction, otherwise the game overwrites some of them. I'd suggest installing Sduibek's Fallout FIXT mod instead of the TeamX patches. It incorporates all TeamX fixes, the high res patch, Armor mod and then some. So do a fresh install and try this one only.

I have win7 64 bit. It was doing ok on a new game until i tried to enter shady sands... heard the music but crashed 4x. never entered. had to cntrl alt delete.

something im doing wrong?

i did the fresh install + fixit. Thank you for the assistance

wakrather - post your full specs in signature like i did, you installed on program files folder?

I selected gog/fallout

and then hit go

most of things I kept default aside from the the armour things as that is really what i want to see.

AMD 1090T 6 core, 8 gigs ram, ATI 5770 video card, Win7 Professional 64 bit. And using GOG.

it shows the title screen as being edited and high res works/instaleld fine

If the game was installed to the default "Program Files" folder that might be your problem right there. Reinstall and choose a different folder, some special Windows folders are protected by the OS and that causes issues with Fallout, especially with mods.
