Pet Dog - Better Than Tamogotchi

I've noticed a dog is following me in Junk Town, presumably he'll fight by my side. Is there something I should do to keep it that way? Does it need feeding? Of course I'll try to heal it when it takes damage. Some guy called 'Phil' commented that he wouldn't trust that beast. "It's a killer" he said.

Ah, you found Dogmeat. No, you don't need to do anything about him. He'll follow you around and help you out.

Dogmeat is great Like Sander said, he helps you out, but in my experience, he usually dies quite easily...

Yeah, it needs feeding. You also need to clean up the puddles it occasionally leaves or other NPCs in the area will get angry.

Also, travelling with it to the Hub without buying a leash will get the local police angry with you and you'll have to pay a fine.

Make sure to equip the leash.
