Photoshop. How? Where? When?

I've seen lots of pictures edited with photoshop around here, yet I only have MS paint, and I always wonder where these people actually get photoshop. I mean its T3H expensive. There HAS to be an easier way, right? Maybe a free trial or some other software?

Besides Photoshop (original) i use MS picture it!
I made most of my propaganda posters with ms paint and picture it.

Here, grasshopper. Hafta reinstall it every month since it's a 30 day "tryout".

No, won't post any warez sites.

I use Paint Shop Pro (7 at the moment). Maybe not as sophisticated as Photoshop, but it's sure as hell cheaper, and does what you need it to do. I think of it as MS Paint on steroids.

Plus, Paint Shop Pro's trial is 60 days, not 30 ;P

GIMP

It has almost everything Photoshop has and it`s for free. Do a bit of search for plug-ins and techniques to use it and you should be fine. 8)

I got Photoshop 5.5 with my scanner, then Photoshop 6 with another scanner I bought later that year. Free products rule. :D

Try Gimp. If that's not enough for you, warez it. Hell, Photoshop is probably more warezed than any other soft out there. Everyone I know got one.

I'll third the Gimp recommendation. Excellent program. As to your question: I have a friend who works in IT, and he gave me a copy that no one at his job was using.

BTW, you can probably find older versions of Photoshop pretty cheap. Unless you need it for professional work you aren't going to miss any of the things that get added when they update it.

I got Arcsoft PhotoImpression with my printer, and so far have been able to do all the things photoshop can do in my inexperienced hands.

My uncle has Photoshop installed on the computer that I use, so its free for me! :D
