Well yesterday I came to my dad's office to repair ARMY Computer. Well they seems to got any problem with DATA Storage. A Sergeant responsible for maintaining Computer there asked me and my friend for a brand new CD writer. He want to sell his Creative CD Writer 8X for a brand new CD writer. He want's a 40x Plextor 40 X but that's too Expensive. Can you give any suggestion for a brand new CD writer? Here I give some Choice:
- Plextor 40X.
- ASUS CD-R
- TEAC 40X CDRW
- Lite-On
- Creative CDRW.
- Yamaha.

Which one the best with my limited budget? We only got $250

Plextors are the best, period. Extremely reliable, fast and with long lasting high quality parts, you'll never need to buy another CDRW again (unless you need more speed).

Lite-ON CDRWs are also made really well and are really fast, if not quite loud. They are REALLY inexpensive because Lite-ON used to make most of its money selling to OEMs like Dell and Gateway as well as selling "Lite-On in disguise" CDRWs under rebranded titles (like Cynedyne).

Your $250 budget will take you a long way if you're purchasing an IDE drive and can install it for that Sergeant. What you need to do is go to http://www.pricewatch.com and order the drive direct from one of the shops.

If you're too fucking lazy, you can just buy a Plexwriter 40x12x40x for $150 at http://www.directron.com/pxw4012ta.html . Most of the 40x12x40x drives cost around that much. A Lite-On will cost you roughly half that much with it being a 48x12x48, but it only has two megs of buffer instead of four like the Plexwriter.

If the guy has a SCSI interface, get him a SCSI plextor ($230). The SCSI interface will keep it so the data writing doesn't affect his machine.
