PIPBoy 2000 Audio Player skin for Winamp, version 1.4.0

Look, Ma! Two Heads!

I suppose this falls under Fan-Art, right ?

Anyway, I updated my Winamp skin to 2.9x // 5 Classic requirements. Added a video and a general purpose window, fine-tuned some colors and cleaned up a lot of pixels here and there.

That's just an image, though. The actual skin is currently available on 1001 Winamp Skins and DevianArt. Winamp.com should follow soon enough.

Oh, and I suppose here on NMA as well, once someone approves the upload. (If there are two on there, use the latest one. First upload still had some readme.txt faults.)

Anyway, enjoy!

-Gerko, wondering if this will recapture his 15 minutes of internet fame.

Been using your winamp skin for ages. At least, I think it's yours, the "old" fallout one.

Looks great, one thing, though. The letters are a bit too... squeezed in your new version. Any chance of fixing it?

Well, if it looks like this, it's mine, yeah.

Mmm ... Which letters ? The Playlist and Media Library font ? I'm pretty sure I didn't change the font type. Font size is out of my control, but you can set it in your Winamp preferences. (And/or overwrite the type as well.)

I brightened the playlist background a little, though. - A little less contrast, perhaps?

Speaking of fonts, I've just been using Arial, since I can't really seem to decide on another one that may look good/better. The actual Fallout fonts don't look very good, sadly enough. Any suggestions ? I'm definatly open to (constructive) criticism, really.

-Gerko, just don't go near Times New Roman.

Mkay:

I was talking about the top "Pipboy audio player" thing, it's too big/squeezed to the top.

The play/pause/etc buttons look much better on the older version as well, so does their font.

Just below that, the 'equalizer' sign is too big/squeezed in respect to the buttons under it and the button at the other side of the screen thingy.

The rest looks good.

Hrmmm ... okay.

Again, I changed nothing about the window titles this time around. Pretty sure it's been like that since the first release in '99. Looking around the files I think the background for the "Equalizer" and "Audio Player" titles are still intact, so I suppose I could trim there a little.

Regarding the "play/pause/etc.", you mean these ?

Hmmm ... I'll consider changing it back, or play with it some more and go for a compromise or something.

-Gerko, "Anything else?"

*blinks*

Didn't touch 'em with a ten-foot pole ! I think I may have changed the background from "beta" to v1.1, but that must have been in november '99 or something. Don't think it even had an EQ skin. Did you try the actual skin? Perhaps the image compression did something funky with the colors. (I don't see a difference, but then again, I'm colorblind, so what do I know ?)

If not that either, what are you comparing it with ? This ?

That's not Mine, that's Sir Qwerty's Vault-Tec skin. Also quite good. Smoother, at least. Created roughly at the same time.

Anyway, I'll take a look at the titles soonish. (Sleepy time first, and then I'll be busy with work for a few days, I think.)

-Gerko, Oh, and how about "Anyone else" ? :p

euhm, wooz, are you high or something? that part of the skin hasn't changed inbetween release 120 and 140.

hell, the only difference i see in the windows that i actually use are a small fault in the playlist window that has been fixed. (i don't use the lib, video, etc, just main, eq and playlist)

either way, still a great skin & i'll use it until the end of time Gerko ;)

PS: i prefer the small lettering to the fat lettering in the Vault-tec skin.

Ehm. No, I thought Gerko did the vault-tec skin.

Oh well.

PS: i prefer the small lettering to the fat lettering in the Vault-tec skin.

Silence, minion.
