Placing new items into the game.

I realize a problem with much of the mod process is finding an item one can do without and changing it, what if you just made new items. Is it at all feasible to creat a blank .pro file, use a modified verson of fime that knows what hex values need to be changed for weapons and items. I was thinking, maybe it could enter vaules at the right place, like if you want (new).pro to be "gun" so select a "newgun" option, and sence fime already knows where and how to change hex for different values, if you put in the damage and picture, couldn't it just be created, then have it put in the game with a edited inventory editor ( just mess with the .ini settings) I'm not sure if this is possible, it's also sorta hard for me to express, just let me know if it's possible, thanks

Don't know about that.... Grendelin and I did manage to get new images into the game, so it stands to reason that you could get new .pro files in as well. The problem lies in putting your items in game. If it's not hardcoded into the game, the game doesn't know/care about the item. All settings and placement of items are hardcoded into the game.... All "modding" does is tweak the settings for hardcoded info (my MAC10 mod is a tweaked-out pipe rifle, for example). Not so sure you can create new code IN GAME.

that so easy, extract proto/items/items.lst from master.dat and put you pro file in the final, change fie inf and tadaa you item is at the game, well not at the game but you can use with replacing on inventory using fie. easy no?

Oh well, I guess if you add a whole new item, we will have to edit the maps, city etc to put in the new items, that's not easy IMO.

Speaking of modding Pokemon, I wonder how that's gonna work... For emulated Pokemon only, maybe?

He's saying that once you create a new weapon you'll need to place it into the game and to do that you'll need Dims' mapper which is rather easy to use.

You're really out of luck with the modding tools aren't you? I'm betting my viewer won't work on your machine too :P
