please confirm- bonus mission

Can anyone else confirm this. I have heard that in order to play the bonus mission you have to:
(1) download it from NMA
(2) using noteppad, change the bos.cfg file for misc.bonus(false) to misc.bonus(true)
(3) you must do this before starting the game.

I have just done (1) and (2) and have just finished up mission 3 and got the orders for Preoria and Macomb. Does this mean that I will mission the mission to Springfield?

It's available after Quincy. I ran the Bonus.exe file available here but it didn't modify my Bos.cfg file like it is supposedly meant to. This file is in the Core sub-directory. I had to open it with Notepad and edit the line:-
{misc.bonusMission} = {false} to {misc.bonusMission} = {true}.
I thought I'd missed the boat on it when it was not there after Quincy but I edited that .cfg file whilst playing Mardin and bingo, it was there as an option the next time.
