Please help a confused newbie :)

First off, FANTASTIC! I had no idea such comprensive modding equipment existed!

Now to my problem. I have ripped out all the files from CRITTERS.DAT using DATManL as per the guide, no problems. When I say all, I mean ALL, which takes nearly a gigs worth of space on my HDD.

I would like to access, and convert to .BMP, some of the Critter images via FRMCon20. This is where things have started to go wrong. I can only seem to get images of critters, people etc. facing upwards and to the right. (IE: facing at 2 o'clock, if you see what I mean). How can I browse the rest of the images facing all directions?

Because FRMConverter only supports single frames. You want to try FRM2BMP (an MS-Dos based program) which reads all frames and exports them as bmps.

Thankyou for taking the time to help.

Unfortuanately, I have had no luck with FRM2BMP. Thick skulled morons like me usually shy away from DOS like it is the plague. Does anyone have any tips for using FRM2BMP more efficiently? (I am prepared to use DOS if it is unavoidable)

Also, is a windows graphical front-end being planned for FRM2BMP?

BTW, I should add that I have converted CRITTERS.DAT into the many .FRM etc. files with ease.

I have managed to get FRM2BMP working fine, thanks.

I stand by my statement regarding how clunky and awkward DOS is. I put it to you, please put a Windows front end on it, if only for thickies like me!

Anyway, I'm off to play with my endless reams of Fallout BMPs. (How could they pack so many pics, sounds etc. into those tiny CRITTERS and MASTER .DATs?)
