A. Approximately summer 2007.

A. Possible, but not before qVGA is ready.

Q. The game is not running!
A. Currently not 100% WM devices are supported: find a new device or wait for a new version.

A. Game architecture is not optimized. It will be fixed in v.003 beta.

About project:
Fallout for Pocket PC (inner working title) is a freeware close-coded game engine for Windows Mobile 2002, 2003SE, 5.0 with open map and script editors, allowing anyone to create SPECIAL-based Fallout-like RPG for PDA (even a complete port of desktop F1&2).

</center>
"Fallout: Back to U.S.S.R." (working title) is a game project, based on the FPPC engine, telling us a story about what happened on the other side of the world on post-nuclear Russia territory. Without vaults mutation rates and peoples destiny is much more severe here. You will play one of the apocalypse survivor and find your role in the plot of an organisation calling themselves - neocommunists. Will you decide to stop the raising plague of a new society based on Lenin and Stalin testaments or join the ranks of those who is building a new "bright future" on the ashes of nuclear war? Destiny is yours, tovarish!"

If anyone wonders about copyrights: final version of the released engine will not contain any copyrighted material, except our own. To design a new game you have to use Fallout 1/2 or other ressources by yourself.

As for "Back in USSR" we are not sure yet, but you may need to own/buy a desktop Fallout 2 version to be able to install the game on PDA, as we cant include F2 ressources in the installation pack due to copyrights.

BTW Pocketgamer was not quite correct saying its russian project, I wish to present you the project author Velmaskin Nikita Aleksandrovich aka maskin, (C) Belarus, 2006-2007.

PDA Hardware that does Work with Pocket Fallout

Just wanted to start a quick list of hardware that does work for those who cant wait to play PFO on the go!

I have a Dell Axim X30 PDA with Xscale processor that runs it well. Anyone else like to comment? :?:

Havent download it yet but the previous poster having a older Axim I feel confident that finaly I will have Fallout on the PDA.

I had tried the basics, transfering Fallout to my memory card... works with some basic games, and the dos emulators but it none worked. I was actualy about to sell my PDA to help pay off some speeding tickets till I could get back on my feet again but screw that if I can now play Fallout on my Axim I can get the money from some other source.

I have the Axim X51V with the highest processor avil to PDA's out today so no doubt it will run smoothly on there :D Thanks a million for this.

Good idea, Bytez, to start a hardware support list! Here is a little help to make it better. We have reports of the game already running smoothly on these devices:

Acer n50, n10, n311
ASUS A620BT, A636
Dell x50v, x51v
Eten X500, M600
HP rx3715, hx2190, h1930, hx2490, h3950
Loox 410, 718, 720, N560
Mitak A700
O2 XDA
Qtek 9000, 9090, S110, S200, 9100, 2020i
Rover W5

If you have any comments or suggestions about this project, post them here I'll make sure they are transmitted to the devs.

Have fun!

Jumped the gun...

:wall:

I did get the beta V001 to work well however the beta v002 is not working on the Dell Axim 30. Not sure why, the splash startup screen comes up fine then it self terminates. Not a big deal since I have seen what the v001 can do however I was just wondering if you might use the NMA forums as a place to use for support questions unitl the web site is up?

If beta 001 works, 002 should too. Haven't you downloaded the WM5.0 version by mistake?
Beta 002 requires a little more memory to run, do you have enough?

Yes! it works now. I increased the memory for programs and it works well.
Thank you Commando, I look forward to the next beta.

:ok:
