First time out of the vault
ok i havn't seen anyone with this problem,so i'll ask.i just got FOT and i didn't like any of the pics so i decided to check out some of the mod pics, and the program the guides told me to get only recognizes the D:/ drive, and i think i found my around that then i went further and it said to make the BOS_something a zip and i don't know how so i went to the properties and changed it to .zip, but it says it's an invalid archive. help please. if you didn't understand that just say so and i'll try making it readable.

EDIT: sorry could someone move this? i wasn't paying attention. oh and the file i said was wrong, i meant gui_bos. and i did that and got the file and i'm lost again.

REEDIT: ok BIG problem when i try starting up FOT i get this message:failed creation of font font_normal. i think it's because i changed the file to a .zip and don't know how to change it back.i've modded FO2 but this is way different. do i have t reinstall?

The file should be gui_0.bos just extract the contents to your core folder with the option use folder names ticked. Don't overwrite fnt_Lite.PNG.

So it should look something like c:\program files\14 degrees east\fallout tactics\core\gui all the portraits are in core\gui\char and whatever you do, don't try and put them back in gui_0.bos! If you're short on disk space you can now delete gui_0.bos if you still can start the game up then reinstall.

If you change a portrait file by replacing it with an identically named file it will be instantly changed in the game. You will not have to start a new game to have it take effect.

If, on the other hand you're changing portraits by editing an entity to have a different portrait file you will have to start up a new game to have the change take effect.
