Possible to implement ironsites?

Hi I've yet to get fallout 3 but I will and the main reason is because I'm hoping to play some mods which bring the game closer to what I'd want or maybe even possibly mod it myself (longshot TBH). But anyway I'm just putting this out there as a question but also as a suggestion for much more capable people who might want to implement it. Is it possible to somehow "move" the characters arm and weapon into alignment of the center of the screen to facilitate ironsights? It might be an easy way to implement them without making new animations/weapon models etc.
 
I think you mean "iron sights". Proper spelling can be helpful for efficient communication and convincing other people of paying attention to you.

I would think the problem is not so much the modelling, but the actual "aiming view" tactical FPS games usually have, which requires camera movement.
 
Yeah I don't know why I always spell them like that. 'site' it's a location where iron resides lol. Another way might be to have them implemented in alpha textures. I'm hoping some people who are more capable than me can make a "realism" mod for fallout 3 and at least turn it into a tactical survival FPS rather than a half baked loaf of poorly chosen ingredients.
 
iron sights are already in use.

if you want it to feel like targeting with the sight on the gun, that's just a matter of replacing the iron-sight animation so it's held up center, instead of off to the side.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Somehow move the gun+arm up the center of the screen. I figure might as well at least try and make F3 a respectable FPS rather than a half baked 'master of nothing' game. One tactical shooter which I used to play (a mod actually called "project reality") implemented 3d ironsites from 2d texture based ones with such ease I was astounded the actual devs didn't accomplish it themselves.
 
Well, you could always do what OpFor did - outfit each weapon with a scope that mimics the iron sights silhouette.
