Possible to remove the "Multiplayer Check"?

Arlex

First time out of the vault
I have a coop map that I use to play online. But since no one plays online anymore I would like to play it alone. But the problem is that I wanna go through the Character Selection screen so I can pick my own custom chars. But since this is done in Multiplayer and I have no one to play with. I always get the message "Team 1 was victorious" right at the start. Is it possible to remove this so I can play alone?

There isn't a multiplayer check, what you'll have to do is make the characters as entities and add them to the map, player index 1. Then start the map via the single player custom map menu.

Team 1 will always win using the mp engine if there's only one human player.

I know, but that't not what I wanna do. It's much easier IMO to be able to make you're characters in the game then using the editor. Not only that but I don't wanna use the SAME character every time. I wanna mix it up with different custom chars. I want to make any character I want. Then pick him manually before starting the map. If I would do it single player style I would haft to edit the map every time I wanna new char. Either that or make multiple copies of the same map just with different chars. But still, if possible id like the Multiplayer Character Selection Screen to come up every time I wanna play the map. I'm really just looking for a skirmish type mod.

There's a reason I said, 'what you'll have to do' not 'what you can try'. Because unless you've got the source code you've got four choices. Make a one mission campaign, edit the map each time, or make loads of copies.

Or find new friends who still play FOT multiplayer.

Try DaC.

PS. You do know that you can open up the character generation screen from the entity editor to make your characters using the 'make' button at the top of the entity editor. So the only difference is you've got then to manually add them to a map.

Ok, thanks for your help. But now I have another problem. Figure I'd post it here instead of making a new topic. I created my characters in the editor and I also created some Mutants to fight against. But the problem is that EVERYONE ALWAYS gets a critical hit. None of the characters have the Sniper perk. So why are they getting nothing but crits?

No idea, there's so many possible culprits, high stats, high skills, weapon, los, level, armour, difficulty, settings? Or a combination of the above.

And sniper wouldn't give you a critical every time anyway, only if you make a successful luck roll.
