post-game quests?

First time out of the vault
I just beat the game for the first time (yay!) and now I'm tooling around the wasteland, trying to find more special encounters and things. I know there are new things to do in two places, but what about unfinished quests and quests not taken? Is it possible to do those too? (I ask because I tried to go back to Modoc to marry and the game locked up, but I distinctly remember the game NOT locking up when I tried it on my first pass through town and reloaded soon after.)

If it does lock up it's not because you finished the game. Are Grisham and Jo both still alive?

Yes. Love your guide, btw. ^_^ I remember playing (and subsequently not finishing) FO2 because all the damn bugs--doing ANYTHING involving Grisham locked up my computer. The brahmin drive quest, Bess, marriage, everything. The car too. It got to the point where the game would crash every time I used the car to travel from one map to another. I now own a computer that can run Doom 3 and Caesar 4 without graphic glitches, so one fresh install later and here I am.

I've tried reloading several times, trying at different hours of the day and night, leaving the map and coming back, pretty much everything that "fixed" other glitches. Nothing. I thought it would be a fun challenge to gain a spouse and try to keep him or her alive during random encounters. Guess not.

It finally worked! No crash to desktop, no frozen black screen with Modoc music, hitched myself to Miria and then Davin, hilarity ensued, reloaded after carting Davin around the wasteland.

The little bastard didn't attack anything with the nice guns I gave him (Needler, Gauss pistol) and only when I stripped Davin of his weapon did he go out and whack on the centaurs...with his bare fists... (Marcus enjoys putting away his Vindicator minigun, walking two steps to Enclave patrolmen, and punching them in the face. Sulik has this thing for hammers, and I'm betting if I gave Cassidy a Sharpened Spear he'd be changing out his Jackhammer for a stick of wood. Or even better, I'll be getting shot to pieces by cave robbers in the mood for tribal jerkey, and all of my party members just stand around complaining about their arthritis! Goris doesn't even stand in front of the guy with the pulse rifle or Bozar, and that's something at which he excels! Why do they forget their combat settings??? Why???)

Anyway...

The real reason I'm posting again is because I'm trying to find out which quests can be finished post-Enclave if started before the Enclave. I left some people alive in New Reno, and I'm still kicking myself over that one. I whacked Louis Salvatore while on the Corsican Bros. shakedown quest, and I can't star in my own porno because all I can ask about is the money. Also, is there some sort of "augh, our boss is dead" script that overrides the "congrats, you finished the game" script? I don't understand why Leslie Anne Bishop keeps referring to her husband's business when everyone else thanks me for saving them from imminent destruction...unless by her husband's business she means the Bishop giblets still stuck to the pool table...

Post-game, I can get the still quest from Mrs. Wright, but she's wasn't there when I got there (though Father Tully was), and 6am came and went. I dropped some C4 next to the still and none of the Wrights cared at all, but I think they'll notice that the next batch is a little Tully-flavored. I pushed him out of the way, but he just had to get one last drink from the still. Splat.

On to other towns for missed opportunities. Tried playing with the computer in Gecko (post-fix and optimization) to see if I could get the easter egg there. Didn't have enough Science the first time through to get the necessary dialogs, and the "other stations" option didn't work post-game which is appropriate, all things considered. I also find it odd that Lo Pan was stuck in the San Fran fighting ring when I left on the tanker, and managed to get out before I got back. Even stranger still, Navarro doesn't reset. I would have expected everyone to go batshit, but no, Chris still likes my car, and the sergeant's still shocked that I'm someplace other than the vertibird platform.

Father Tully is down in the basement? Huh?

I never thought of that.

Interesting.

So that's NOT Tully in the train station basement? Oy. Here's how the quest worked for me:

--talked to Mizzus Wright, stopped pissing her off, got the quest
--went to the church, she wasn't there, looked up your guide, set PipBoy to 6am, she wasn't there, saved, reloaded, wasn't there, loaded earlier save, talked to Mizzus Wright, stopped pissing her off, got the quest, went to the church, she wasn't there
--went to the train station basement, there's only one person down there with the still and he has Tully's avatar (but then, who doesn't?) and all the dialog box says is "you see a man," so I do the business with the C4 and laugh my butt off when pseudo-Tully wanders all the way back across the room from where I pushed him to the exact spot where the C4 is and gets himself blown to bits

Is there another way it's supposed to work? Is Mrs. Wright supposed to come with you to the train station? (It's this kind of thing that encourages FO2 players to adopt a "kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out" mindset. I mean, seriously.)

I'm running the official 1.02 patch, my game is a store-bought US version, can provide computer specs if necessary.
