Went into one of our local large chain gaming stores over the weekend.

Up on their white board, saw a "Interplay Sucks" writ large upon it.

When I was looking through some games, I saw BG:DA, and for kicks, picked up the box... Taped to the back, a small story of how IP laid off the BIS division, 2 weeks before X-mas, and the last line:

"Is this the kind of company you want to buy games from?"

In going through other IP games, I saw this on maybe 1/4 of the boxes I looked at.

Pretty chuckalicious, if I do say so.

That's pretty amazing, cause I went into my local large chain gaming store not two days ago, and they had done something similar. They have a whiteboard where they do like "Specials of the Day" or whatever, and instead of a special, it read "RIP Black Isle.....your death will be avenged."
The letters on the back of the games would have been amazing to see though. Maybe I'll go suggest it....

Related story: The EB games store I shop at has decided not to order any Interplay game to stock on store shelves. They have decided to only order copies that were pre-ordered (they didn't want to, but they were required to). They also can't wait for the cardboard cut out of FO:BOS, so they can deface it.

Heh, I noticed the same sentiment at my local EB (although not quite so loud in middle of the store), and the cute little redhead walking the floor agreed with me about quite a few things. The first is that there's no way she's over 23. The second is that it seems that she, too, has been following Inertplay and also put together that if BIS is supposedly still around, then why are all of the people gone or fired? She was a fan of the SFC games they had published and liked some of BIS' work, and basically was not too thrilled after Inertplay did their magic juju with Taldren and it led to quite a negative impact upon the development and support of the game. If it wasn't for the integrity of the developer, the title would have been hosed and 3 would have been quite unlikely. She's also quite aware of what is happening to the Fallout franchise and plans on doing a few more interesting things to Inertplay titles. I thought "Burn In Hell" was a nice, new name for an otherwise poor waste of rack space.

It might be done by EB corporate memo or something. In which case, it wouldn't surprise me if Interplay gets more media notice of this, especially when a major chain rips on them in public.

Gawd, I would love for more of their investors to start ask questions about the shell game Titus is playing with IP's assets.
