not entirely sure if this is the right forum, but what the hell. has anyone noticed how the power amour that you gain in F1 and F1 from the BOS, is very like the power armour that is worn by the space marines in a popualer model range called warhammer 40,000? coincidence or not? even the descriptions are very close about how they're completely contained and recylce waste etc.. Coincidence or not? search on google images for more comparisions.

Totally wrong forum, pal.

EDIT: He posted originally at the General Discussion -forum . .

guess when people design walking tanks that are enviro suits and things...well its pretty hard to think up any way to make a basic suit look besides that O.o

euhm, i have to say the space marine suits look nothing like the standard FO1 powerarmor

it's huge and thick but thats where the simularities end imo...

Well, it's huge, bulky, and all. Do you expect him to care about the details?
The FO1, FO2 and FOT armors don't look much like each other either, especially not the FO1 version. The basics all three have in common they also have in common with the WH40k ones. Of course they do. It's the same bloody concept and that concept was not invented by Warhammer either.

Robert Heinlein published Starship Troopers, which contained powered armor, in 1959. Obviously both Warhammer 40,000 and Fallout copied his idea!

Geez, it's simply a common idea. Read the Wikipedia entry for Powered Armor, it mentions Fallout, Warhammer 40,000, and Starship Troopers.

Actually, the Space Marine Armor can look quite a lot like the original FO1 Power Armor, mainly the helmet. YOu'd need the right model, though.

Yeah, it is even named Power Armour, but it's typically of other colour and different in design (quite more blocky).

At some point I thought that UFO: Enemy Unknown might have been the source with their Power Suits. Plus, they had laser and Plasma waepons too.

And Kotario's quite right, it is a common idea, although after Fallout it might have become canon to the PA setting to some people...

yea the original starship troopers book had the fabled "gorilla suits" powered armor that if you read the descriptions sounds like fo1 powered armor with "jump" capabilities that alow you to make huge flying leaps.
