Power Armor Pictures

PowerArmorCostumeGuy

First time out of the vault
I need pictures of power armor from the first fallout game. Specifically the T-51b power armor. I need full body pictures or drawings. I am planning on making a master mold to produce costumes of "futuristic post-nuclear war armor". These costumes are going to be made as exact replicas to the original power armor to start and then I will move to other sets of armor and costumes. I want to start with the power armor, tesla armor, metal armor, and environmental armor then move to the others so any pictures of the power armor or any drawings would be a big help. So far all I have is pictures of the helmet taken from the guy standing in front of a U.S flag. Each piece will be composite material with metal outer coating of thin plates completely painted and modeled after the armor in game and in the in-game sequences. When the first prototype is done I will total costs and labor and start selling them. Remember though these will not be licensed (I plan on trying to get license for the pre-fallout 3 armors from Interplay soon) and will not be called power armor when done...they are "Advanced mechanically assisted environmental armor suits or AMAEA suits" until I get official license. So send in your pictures or drawings of T-51b power armor! Please! Either post em or pm them to me. The sooner I can put together a full body master mold then sooner I can start production. All costumes are and will be hand made to your exact size but I need to make a prototype to go off of. (It's easy to resize molds with machines but I need an original to work with). So get sending ASAP!

I am not a spammer by the way. I just clicked on general discussion while reading general fallout...so sue me. I am looking for full body pictures in specific as there are very few and I can's find any anywhere. Hence why I welcome drawings. I cannot run the games as I have no windows boxes up and running (only *nix boxes at the moment). So before calling me a spammer or sending me to the vats maybey you should have emailed me or PM'd me or at least moved my post to the right forum. So...if you have any full body drawings of the power armor (specifically the T-51b) please either post em or email me or point me to them.

Instead of whining and busting in without reading anything at all, you should've acquainted yourself with forum rules, customs and etiquette. You still haven't bothered to search through these forums, for instance, and you still insist on rudely ordering people to send you pictures. Maybe you should show that you are somewhat trustworthy and willing to put in some work before you ask others to do the work for you.

Ok...lets see

I have searched these entire forums including all screenshots and gallerys for t-51b full body shots....budkis...searched about 23 image search sites...nada....everything I find is a head shot. Also I wasn't rude...I asked to please send them to me. Thats asking quite nicely. I have played fallout since fallout 1 and I know there are in-game photos and vids of the full bodied armor but as I said I cannot access them. So thats why I came here. My first post was in the wrong place....so sue me. I have been on these forums before and hence why I asked and said please to be polite about it. I also planned on donating the first one made to NMA, either for display by the owner or to give away in a drawing, because I follow all the news for Fallout on this website. So far I have made progress getting all the parts for the helmet but I am stuck with the rest of the body. The only images I have show from the shoulder up. So again I ask as nice as I can to please help me find some pictures of the full bodied power armor. I have been searching for the past 3 months and turned up nothing so I decided to ask here because if anyone would know you guys here at NMA would.

Hi,

Just wondering, what are you going to use the costumes for?

These costumes will be made for sale to anyone that wants one (also 10% off if you can name a voice actor from fallout...which I bet most people here at NMA can). However if I got help from NMA then anyone from NMA can get a discount on them or possibly get them free. I cannot promise anything until I get final costs laid out and the prototype made. Hence why I need the full body shots badly.

And I quote: "So get sending ASAP!"
How is that asking nicely?

Yet you didn't say anything even remotely resembling that. All you said was 'I need pictures, send them to me.' without any indication that you had done any work on your own whatsoever.

Also, don't double post.

You can search around to find out how to rip movies from Fallout, and then rip them yourself to get the picture of a full-body armor. You could also check Youtube for the intro movie.

Dark Legacy detects*

Bethesda Developer that is upset that the community does not like the new powered armor that is present in the Fallout 3 trailer, and would like the fans to draw what they think the T-51B should look like, and submit all material to them/him.

If I was a devoloper I would have sent you guys stuff in exchange for drawings. I'm an amateur costume designer and don't know the first thing about game coding. Also I'll state again for ziltoid in specific that I cannot play fallout or even get the files at all because I am on *nix boxes. One fedora linux box and a server box running solaris. Again...why I am on here is asking this community to help. I keep staring at my fallout games wanting to play them but can't....stupid work...

+20% speech skill :P

That is troublesome. The YouTube intros might not be the best quality, but are worth a try. I don't really know about computers, but could the films be extracted from a manually installed game? The programs involved probably wouldn't work though.

There are also some costume tidbits around the forums.

Ah, if only Bethesda were half that attentive..

You're on a *nix box but don't know how to access a standard FAT filesystem? Somehow, I don't believe that. You don't need to install the game to access its files.

Also, yet again, you can look on youtube for the intro movie. That intro movie is the only movie that contains any full-body shot.

Aren't there some PA pictures in the Vault.

Just the same one I have already. The guy in powerarmor from the shoulders up. I may just fiddle around with different molds or go off an in-game screenshot (which I would prefer not to do).
No, there are also the game sprite pictures on the bottom of the page and a shot from intro.

Wish I could. I'm not on FAT file system.

I know about the sprites. I finally found that intro video (had to go to ifilm as youtube isn't working for me correctly...just keeps saying loading...). There are about 3 frames during the annexation of canada video clip that shows the right side (from the stand point you are in it) really well and also shows the front left side. The legs are also in pretty clear view. But how should I make the back look...any suggestions? I can partially see it at the start of the annexation video but its a bit fuzzy...from the looks of it the whole suite is 4 pieces. The helmet, Shoulder upper breast plate with arms attached, lower breast and back plate, and leggings. From the looks the boots are attached. I can barely make out the boots and from the looks either are attached or snap on somehow (Might be a similar system to automotive hose clamps. So far the headlamp will function, the eyepiece will have a toggle switch to move down into place (I may possibly make this into a form of a monocular) and will keep the cross hairs painted on, The air filtration system WILL work using gas mask surplus, and I plan on having a built in radio using either a cheap FRS/GMRS radio, a cheap 2 way walkie-talky toy, or using CB equipment. .If anyone has suggestions on the suit in general either cosmetic or functionality (realistically please)please don't hesitate to post. I plan to start prototyping the helmet first them moving to the rest of the frame work.

J.E. Sawyer said they had to change it a bit for Van Buren, because:

We tried to model the power armor as T-Ray did in the opening movie and game, but he could get away with clipping that would look really bad at close distances or certain angles. Simply put, building the Fallout power armor as it originally looked would have resulted in a suit with a tiny range of motion or a hilarious amount of clipping. We changed as much as we needed to allow for more flexibility in movement, but tried to stay very close to the original design whenever possible.

So it's probably best to use the Van Buren version anyway:

PowerArmorCostumeGuy, don't double post, there's nothing stopping you from responding to several people in the same post. If you have something to add to a post, there's an edit button.

I might base the body off of that model and the helmet from the original. A sort of hybrid T51b. Thanks!!!!
