Where'd That 6th Toe Come From?
I think it would be a good idea to put a couple guards around the bomb that won't let you touch it unless you pass a speech check from Lucas Simms or bribe them somehow?

Also I feel that the church of atom should be pushing you to detonate the bomb for spirirual purposes and try to get in your way if your aim is to defuse it.

Unfortunately, I don't have the skill with the editor to pull that off, but if anyone wants to do the grunt work I could write up a mini design doc.
 
The cult of Atom doesn't care if the bomb gets defused, do they? At least I haven't seen any difference.
 
Their whole deal seems to be that the bomb exploding is salvation.

Moira tells you that she would have defused the bomb a long time ago but she didnt want to "ruin their fun"

Actually, when you mention it to the Cult's leader or his wife that Lucas Simms is looking for someone to defuse the bomb, their response is outrage and calling it 'Blasphemy!'

Which is why I always thought it odd that they didn't react in any way to the bomb being defused..

You know, someone really needs to make a Moira romance mod. She's cute and the crazy ones are always the best in bed.
