Im having some problems getting past the Turrets in the
preoria bunker.Do I need to do the other mission which is offered at the same time inorder to get another level or 2 or should I just be patient and chip away doing 2-5 damage.
Maybe grenades? Any thoughts would be excellent!!

No need take lever up, the bunker always get up and down, so just run, find cover, get down, and run will easy pass the bunker.

Or, if you main guy have pe more than 8,you can try with ak47 Single( more damage than hunt rifle) to take out one bunker or two. myself main chr pe10, small gun around 120-130(? forget) can take one in ablut 10-15 mins,at a aim rate about 75%, this range, only take one shot from bunk. However, this is not nesessary at all.

Hi Doc,

For me, I just turn off the 'turn base mode' in Options, and keep running running and running, and u will pass the turrets.

The hardest part is when you have to run through the doors leaving one guy outside to turn the switch off and on so as not to kill off the tribe. that's a bitch, I usually just let them die.

In my opinion there's three ways to do it. 1 is to run or sneak past them , 2 is to load up on shotguns and ammo (seems to do decent damage to them) and take some damage to take them down, 3 stay at a good range and aim at thier weapon "arms" to take out their guns. This last time I decided to take out all the turrets so I could get all that nice micro fusion ammo for later, also if you prevent the turrets up top from killing any villiagers the elder will give you an extra battery, this will raise your rep.

Interestingly enough i have found that the turrets in that bunker just cannot hit you if you are in melee (hand to hand) range. Just get a crowbar or a ripper or something, charge into the single turrets, and beat them senseless. I guess if you step in under the gun barrels they can't hit you, makes sense really.

I'm puzzled.... which Preoria turrets might we be talking about? The ones that are practically inside the Wachutu village near the stairs, the ones with over 400 hitpoints and laser weapons - you know, the ones that NEVER SHOOT me or the tribe???? That's right, they won't pop up - at least not in my game. Did I miss something or is my game bugged?

Have you finished the mission yet?

I've noticed this also. Those things can turn 360o unless your standing right in front of them. Then their intelligence lowers or something. (kind of like when you can't find your car keys and they are in your hand.) But I found the easiest thing to do once i'm that close and haven't been shot at is simply steal the batteries. no batteries = no ammo = ha! ha!

Well now you can sleep easy knowing that it isn’t buged, or I should say this isn’t one of the 1000’s of bugs that are infesting this game;-)

You who are able to go hth must have a bug, because when I tried that they shot my squad up just fine, in fact always hit... As far as stealing I don't think babs was available when I went and I wouldn't sacrafice another member for her anyway (probably a good idea for this mission though), and I don't think very many people will have tagged stealing on their main, I know I haven't.

Oops... Well what do you know - now I got stuck with the damn turrets myself! :-) Since I have no save outside Preoria (I guess they wanted to make the game a bit harder with the fact that you can't go back to a BOS bunker to restock mid-mission), all I got against them is 4 Kalashnikovs and 4 hunting rifles. And how do those work against the almost 400hp-turrets? You guessed it - No damage, no damage, no damage, 1 damage, no damage.... you get the picture. So what now? I haven't managed to kill even one lousy turret, and scrolling ahead shows about 8 more to go. Running past them appears to be very painful, so ... what next? How did you finish the mission? Any hints welcome (no, I don't have grenades and my throwing-skill sucks... so that's no option).

Oh yeah, on another note... I'm having a VERY hard time using targeted shots. The game never tells you when you hit a something (why scrap the Fallout 2 style - "You hit Lynette in the eyes for 215 damage"), and if I actually get a critical hit in (happens every 4 reloads, it seems) it's never enough to cause any damage that you could actually see.

I'm referring to the idea of shooting at the turret guns... I can't disable them. And I thought targeted shots made it easier to get criticals (worked in F2)... The only criticals I seem to get are burst-mode overkills at point-blank range! Well, ofcourse 6 luck isn't much, but somehow it feels that criticals were easier in F2.

Oh, by the way... The "Gain Primary Stat"-perks are still in Tactics, right?

Gain is still in the game.

Criticals aren't as good or as often as in FO2, if you want to see when you get a critical turn on all messages in the options screen and watch your messages. I seem to get more and better criticals based on my % (or over 95%) to hit than I do with a high luck character. Finesse definately makes a difference getting criticals, but the reduced damage makes most criticals you get only worth about the same as a regular hit from someone without it.

Hunting rifles are pretty weak against the turrets, you really need some sort of shotgun and lots of ammo preferably the fleshettes or sluggs, ak's are better than rifles, but not much. All I can suggest if you don't have the ammo is to send either your fastest or your sneakiest member by untill you can deactivate the turrets on the level. I did that to some extent in one of my games and it worked fairly well. I was able to disable the first turret on the left with my first aimed shot though so that made it alot easier. Also once you get a turret disabled you can then go beat them to death in ctb with a 2 range mele weapon without getting hit, saving your ammo.

OK, I switched to CTB to run past the turrets... That almost seemed like cheating, as the turrets had no chance of ever hitting my team if I just ran without stopping. My only regret is that I had to kill off the village... If this was Fallout 2, I would've gotten out of the mission and came back later with better gear.

Sure, I got all messages turned on... For some odd reason I'd just like it far more if the message box ALWAYS told me exactly what body part of the enemy I hit, even if it wasn't a critical (like it was in F2). It's just some crazy psychosis of mine, I guess.... :-) Well, it would look better in the screenshots.

Thanks for your hints!

Hmm... This is going way off topic, but I got 8 agility and science as a tag skill... I just learned that I could've had 8 AP with _6_ agility, and that there's no real use for the science-skill! Darn, has this game changed. :-) Would you recommend restarting? Would it be worthwhile to spend the 2 points on luck?
