So BOS from the east (FoT) meet the BOS from the west (FO1 & FO2). The Westies not agreeing with the tactics used by the Easties either retrain or send them away (again). You (by yourself or with custom squad) are sent east to check out the stories of Vault 0. Of course with the disbanding of the BOS Easties you will have to fight your way to Vault 0 a little with the break down of law. Once there you find the place booby trapped and the defences (whats left) re-activated. It becomes obvious that the Banished Easties came here. For what??? Upon further investigation and fighting, you find a time machine in the bowels of the vault. (might have been started before the war, Vault 0's original reason for being, and maybe the machines, with Barnaky's help of FoT almost finished it and then the Easties put the finishing touches to it) So you figure out that they have gone back in time to Washington DC after the start of the war but before the atomic bombings have started. (the beginning of Fallout bears out that there was some time after the start and before the bombs.) So, being the only ship in the quadrant, er... the only one around you decide to follow them to see what they are up to. Once in DC you find a war raveged town where the solders are running the show (Enclave Types), the citizens are not liking it or them or you, there's packs of wild dogs, Looters/Raiders, Biker Gangs(50's Style), and maybe even Russkies(in red Pre-Power Armour) to contend with, (maybe some escaped zoo animals), and cops gone wild on psycho, and of course time travel has somehow adversely affected your Enhanced Power Armour and energy weapons. Maybe you need to find some more timely guns or somebody who can fix yours,(later in the game) either way you need to fight to stay alive while you look for the Easties and find out what they are trying to do. So you travel visiting the monuments and congressional library and maybe steal yourself a brand spanking new Highwayman to go the Pentigon or CIA in Langly or a 50's Hooverish FBI Building, or maybe raid the Air (no space) Museum for hardware. (maybe you will find a factory where they are turning out funny looking futuristic jeeps...Hummers) Along the way you uncover a plot to sabotage vaults for a social experiment, FEV research, and really weird experiments on racoons, and maybe some evil anthropologists who want to plant the seeds of crazy religions for the post-atomic America in peoples heads. (maybe you even meet the slicko advertising guys who make up Pipboy for vault training movies so people will learn..."to love the bomb") You could even walk (or have to break into as long side quest) the hallowed research halls and manufacturing facilities of VAULT TECH or WATTZ. So eventually you find the Easties and discover that they are trying to stop the atomic rain of bombs that sends mankind back to square one (almost). After meeting the Pres maybe you decide that Enclave types ran the place into the ground and that an America stuck in the 50's for decades really sucks and that maybe the earth is better off a wasteland, after all in the wasteland you pretty much know who your enemies are. Let's not forget too..."war never changes". So you stop the Easties and help plunge mankind down the road you already know instead of an unknown one. Of course you somehow make it back in time to Vault 0 (using the president's time machine-under the White House, because you know how to solve their problem and make it work) and report to your superiors in SoCal that there was nothing left to bother with.(while you spin the key that activates the time machine on the end of your finger).

zero-x's bitter words after his encounter with roshambo:

"I agree with you but there comes a fuckin point i dont know who roquirbo thinks he is but I at least you didnt really criticize me and i appreciate that i hate people who fuck with my ideas when i didnt say shit to em and yes he is the kind of guy i would take a scalpel tear his head open the take an hammer use the end to samsh through the medulla and use the nail pull as a pry to pull back the top of the skull revealing a brain (small but brain nontheless)and take desert eagle magnum and blow it through his fucking spine as he still breath and then rip out his heart and show him how black it is before he dies but as you said thats illegal well cya"

okay.. technically, a good storyline.

But it's [b[NOT[/b] Fallout 3. We'd raise Hell if they made it like that. No offense, sir... but Fallout is about Survival in the Midst of Overwhelming Odds, of Carving a New Existence out of the ruins of the old..

Your plotline is very good... as a fanfic. Try writing it as such. :D

RE: I'll not argue...but

I love trying to eek out and survive the wastelands, but I was looking at the war torn region around D.C. as another wasteland of sorts. No matter where you turned...another enemy - another fight. I thought having the "Hero" choose his wasteland over the other a rather telling point. Anyway thanks for the FanFic idea and encouragement. Ya know as long as I'm posting today... one of the few things that bug me about FO1 and FO2 is the lack of really modified weapons. I mean after all the years after the war people must be running out of parts and the abilities to repair such things. I would think that people modifying their own weapons would be the norm rather than everone toting new Bozars and Uzis. Finding the occasional cache of buried equipment is always nice, I guess. I love the modified hunting rifles and .223 pistol. I'd like to see more in FO3. How about a weapons creation screen like the character creation screen at the start of the game. Maybe you could get a bunch of parts and make the pistol or rifle of your choice, nothing that would over-tilt the game to early though. I think alot of people would like to lash a grenade launcher to their AK-47 or have a scoped pistol, or extended magazines. I would like to see a move away from the all-powerful energy weapons and back to slug throwers.

Like Arcanum?

Yes.. I'd really like to see that, too. It's always been one of the biggest pitfalls in the game. Fallout 2 had too many shiny new weapons!
Of course, we can argue that there are pople that knows how to build these guns, and that there's a factory somewhere.. but even so.. it won't be enough.

Yes.. more crude but effective weapons! :D
