primary statistics hack?

any hex-editor-elite people out there that has managed to change the primary statistics (ST, PE, etc) of a character from a save game?
my character has lost stats out of a sudden:
strength lowered to 3 (5 before), perception lowered to 5 (9 before with a "Gain Perception" perk)
and it's not due to drugs no. and that's quite sad :/
I tried loading back 1½ missions but same thing seems to happen...
so wondering if I could change them back with hacking
I've been unable to find anything that even remotely resembles these stats myself, but since I'm only a novice at hex-editing perhaps there's a good chance someone else could if it's even possible.
patch might help, but if it doesn't... then I'm screwed...

anyone, got a clue? a hunch? anything?

if there's going to be a trainer of sorts, things like this will have to be found! (don't they?)

Don't know about hacking the saves, but you can do it when BOS is running in cheat mode.

Hold down ALT when clicking the CHR button and you can change them there.

after reading your reply, well I looked for a trainer and it worked... not very well though... and only in 1024*768...
well anyway, my stats are jumping up and down even worse now with the trainer so I'll just start over when the patch is there.
