Prince Rainier Dead

So I was just watching CNN and they said he's dead. (Also , Shadowbird gave a tip ;) )

A shame. I've heard the opinion that he was a very good leader for the country and made it quite prosperous and securely independent.

Too bad we don't have a prince in Poland who'd make us a tax haven ;)

Why are people distraught that the ruler/playboy of a few square miles died?

Speaking of which, I like the Polish flag more, now that it has a black stripe on the top. I say let's keep it.

There's always something to mourn.

Mass Mourners' brain cells, for one.

Hey the guy banged Grace Kelly. SHe was a hottie.

Anyway, I have always heard that Monaco was a "sunny place for shady people".

Unlike Vault 12, which is a shady place for glowing people.

Ranier was the exponent of a whole lineage of thieves, maffiosi and murderers. I guess the Grimbaldi family will have to look for a new Capo now.

Hey, I love monaco.

It's like HK, Macau and other small countries.

They know they ain't big, but they don't really care.

Most of people in these places are very good at making money, and the services there are usually better without having to pay a hand and a foot for.

I recently picked up a Chinese visa at HK in ONE day. No fuss, no pictures, no filling paper works, no signing your name on everything, no explaining your motives, nothing.

I went in, hand over the passport, and I got it back the next day. I don't even need to pre-pay.

I was like WTF?

Why can't all of them be like that? :P

So you never wonderded why the Monegasks never ask questions?

Why is it that I think of my Father's favorite brand of beer every time I see the title of this thread?

The Monegasques. I think.

Unless it was mongooses.

I'm sorry my non-native English speakerness made me make such an unforgivable error. Please forgive me.

But no, really: even the foundation of Monaco as it is today is a tale of deceit and murder. Somewhere in the late High Middle Ages, a Grimbaldi scum dressed himself up as a Franciscan (I so humbly apologize if I misspelled that too) monk, asked the guard at the gates shelter for the night, and then proceeded to slit his throat and the one of the local mayor, and proclaim himself Absolute king of the city he had just 'stolen'.

Ranier II was basically scum too. The only reason Monaco became such a warehouse full of money as it is today is because Monaco is basically one of the largest money-laundering companies in the world.

It's not even an English word:
[French, from Provençal mounegasc, from Mounegue Monaco.]
So it must be French that you suck at. ;)

Well, I hadn't even heard the word before. I would have guessed the people of Monaco would be Monacans, or maybe Monacons.

Meh.

Damn, I've just realised that I'm replying to a 5 day old thread.

In Sovjet Russia, beer reminds you of name of monarch!
