First time out of the vault

WARNING! The field seem to have been purposely placed to be hard to find, thus a user not having spotted it then learning about it in this thread is probably a spoiler.
I will not be using the spoiler tag as the whole thread is probably one. Last warning.
East of the Colorado River on the S(outh) side, vertically between Techatticup and Lucky Jim mines, there's a break in unclimbable rocks bank which contain a slope leading to a huge field which average altitude is about the top of those rocks which seemingly the sole entry is at

and the extremities are at

Coming in there's 2 groups of Deathclaws, starting from the N(orth) it shouldn't be too much trouble to do them separately, even as I left sneak mode (once I was detected). There's no enemy to its (field) N. After what seemed to be > 100' from the area of the 2 groups to the S, there's a large group including 2 mothers. From my observation, there's no way to get them apart (to attack it while the other doesn't get involved). Dealing with it (large group including 2 mothers) cleared that huge field. Beside a small area with a few Deathclaw eggs on top of non-container refuse piles (they usually can be accessed and often contain object found on corpses), I found nothing special about that area, not a single humanoid remains, no object linked to "humanoidity".
This seem pretty strange to me. And if it's not linked to a quest, then it's quite odd IMO.
Any thoughts?
