Problem in the Brotherhood (regading stealing)

Neuromancer

First time out of the vault
this is happening to me only inside the brotherhood, in fallout 1.
last time it happened after i used the steal skill to transfer items from my npc`s to me and then used steal again to put them into the locker in my room (where is the talkative roomate initiate is)
now next time if i load the game, i get the message "you fail to steal anything and wonder if you got caught", and if im unlucky i get the "a brotherhood memebr has caught you stealing" or something and then they attack me.

now i dont know if this is because i have used steal to tranfer items from my NPC and the locker OR the brotherhhod doesnt care if i steal from my team members and they got pissed off because ive planted the items in one of their empty lockers?

and then used steal again to put them into the locker in my room

Why would you have to use steal on the Brotherhood lockers. Once you are in you can go through almost everything in the base.
You just have to open them by clicking on the door.

Neuromancer, i think they get angry because you use steal on the lockers, because they think you might want to plant something. you also have that if you would do that with a person or behind a person to blow him up with a stick of dynamite. but it is strange that you use steal on a locker (if you get caught by it you're in serious trouble).

BTW a nice hint: if you go to the room where talus is with the brotherhood students you can use steal on the students and take their assault rifles, armor and stimps. it's easy because if they catch you they won't attack you :)

i`m using steal most of the times when putting items into containers because if the container is open, first i have to close it, then open it again to view its contents.
but i figured out it too, reloaded a save and used the "longer" method

i have this problem a lot, but its especialy weird this time around;

iv just blown up the base (iv beaten the game before, so dont worry about spoilers or anything) and im returning to the brotherhood to talk to the elders and all them, but if i try to go to the first or seccond floor, at any time, it says right when i reach that floor 'youv been caught stealing...' and i get attacked by the guards there.

i have stolen before, but only from my NPC and from the locker i had some things in. im going to try restarting my computer to see if maybe its a boolean thats sticking or somthing crazy. long shot, but i might as well.

(if your wondering, its faster to steal from open containers than it is to just close and open them again, esp. if you have a weapon in hand and dont want to wait for the animation. usualy, no one cares.)

My wonder ring is actualy much better, as *Restarting my computer did the trick.*

About that - i honestly dont know if you're trying to correct me, making a joke, or being a dick. Either way, i apreciate the advise with the problem.

So it was just a freak boolean and doesn't belong on your save state? How long have you been playing in a row before the bug appeared and does it appear any more?

PS. It's "you are".

Blah. *edits post*

It was just a freak boolean that didnt zero when you reloaded a save. I had been playing for somthing like 3 hours in a row before it happened. it hasnt happened since i restarted my machine, but if it happens again, ill try restarting again.

i remember the same thing happening with fallout tactics. and fallout two. it realy bugs me.

Hrmph. That sounds like a problem with your memory. Especially since Tactics uses an entire different engine from Fallout 1 and 2.

thats probibly the case. but its happened on two machines, but its also happened to a bunch of people.

along the same lines, if i save in battle, and reload the save while im still in combat, every once in a while my NPC will be in a diffrent spot than she was when i saved. i didnt say before as its usualy useful (she usualy goes from line of fire to beside me) but i might as well mention it.
